Hey guys I'm after some help if possible with a timing/idle issue ,so please excuse the long post ,as ill try to give as much info as possible.

R33 gtst series 1

mods:

automatic

stock turbo/ecu/injectors -

splitfire coil packs

full 3inch exhaust & aftermarket dump pipe

K & N panel filter

FMIC

GFB response bov

gates racing timing belt kit & gates racing drive belts

platinum plugs gaped to 0.8

issue 1.

We just recently fitted the gates racing timing belt kit to the car, the timing was previously out by 1 tooth. once corrected there has been nothing but issues with timing/idle issue.

before this and although the timing was out , it ran fine and idled nicely at 700-800rpm.

now it idles irregular at 550-650rpm and almost stalls at traffic lights.

cold start idles at 900rpm "no issue"

if I've been driving at 100kph for a period of time and come to normal street traffic it idles normal at 700-800rpm without issues but only for a maximum of 10 minutes then its back to the 550rpm mark.

issue 2. "boost"

I've owned this car for around 8 months it was molested/raped/gangbanged and any other thing you could come up with and slowly I've been getting this 33 up to speed.

in saying that theres always been an inconsistency in boost levels. somedays its stock 7psi and other days it 5psi max.

we have changed all vacuum hoses and leaks.

when we installed the spitfire coils "brand new" about 2 months ago we also put new original plugs gaped to 0.6 and it was always getting 7psi. well for only around a week.

to try to resolve these issues we have currently done the following

re checked timing is set to normal

changed to platinum plugs gaped to 0.8

replaced o2 sensor "new"

all new vacuum hoses

re installed original BOV then re installed GFB BOV and tried 100% atmo, 50% atmo and set to recuclating in the end.

diagnostic ecu reset

checked & rechecked CAS

checked & rechecked that coils are not cracked

we tried to fit an apexi pod filter but there was a strange noise coming from the cone "maybe faulty" so we reinstalled oem air box with K &N panel filter. " without a filter attached to the AFM we put 2 separated fingers over the AFM and the idle went to normal range.

"no oil was present around AFM"

so on monday we are going to put a new AFM in.

and also the ecu will be checked to see if a piggy back had been previously installed. The reason i say this is because I'm just wondering if it had been tuned previously with bigger cams/more boost/piggy back??? and then re installed back to standard "well running normal ish before it was sold to the guy i bought it off.

if anyone has any fresh ideas it would be much appreciated . "please no hate" just a little help or steer in the right direction
