I put one of these in my GTS-T about 7000 kms ago and it's now not holding both wheels.

I thought this wasn't possible with a mech diff.

The car's getting dangerous again as it twitches bad under hard acceleration.

Also very shuddery on roundabouts etc, never really ever went away.

Only done a couple track days with it.

It's on the lowest setting already.

How often do these need servicing, does it need to be pulled out?

If I use different oil to reduce shudder, will open wheeling be worse?

Of course it's possible. They don't "lock". They have clutches inside that have a breakaway torque. Exceed that torque and the two shafts will turn at different speeds. Do that a lot and the clutches will wear.

At this point you might actually need to get it serviced.

And yes, oil to make it shudder less will likely make it break away earlier. You actually want the opposite. Find a very good driveline workshop and go talk abut oils there.
