Yep we've been chatting for a bit.

He's given me a login to watch the auctions but obviously I'll get better results committing and giving him the finders fee.

I have a really hard time doing that knowing I can't inspect or drive the car.

Pass on that purple 33 imo.

There's a cheap white one for sale in WA. Light interior though.
Info is a bit slack but I'll copy paste for you as its only advertised on Facebook.

1999 vspec
Z tune front end.
Built engine. Still twin turbo.

Nice car, but prefer something that is Silver o Bayside with dark interior.

I can get away without the interior as that's easy to swap in, external colour is another matter.

WA is miles away too =\ Why is there so many 34s there?

OK update time.

Gun metal R34 guy called to say he's been pulling the front end down a little and can see signs of inner guard repair due to new seam sealer but said an inner guard only goes from radiator to strut on the GTR not the firewall.

Said he and the panel beater are happy with how it was done (he's a mechanical engineer) and that I'm welcome to inspect and photograph myself.

He said the same for radiator support but he couldn't spot any signs of removal for the cross member but did notice the lower radiator support was also replaced (whatever that's called).

He said he's less concerned after inspecting but thanked me for alerting him.

He also noted that the auction report he was shown displayed an auction grade 4, so bs.

Good to see select owners going that extra step, as it's likely news to them as well.

I'm a mech engineer to but I wouldn't know a thing about that haha - best to leave it to experts if you decide to pursue this one further.

Safe to say this one's still on the books for you?

It better be a shade of MNP or some Omori Factory treatment for that much. Or at least notably better than any local AUS example in that price range, to even consider.

Reminds me of a R32 GTR Iron Chef posted with an S1, R35 Brembos, R34 6sp transmission - arguably one of the best I've seen, around the $80k mark as well

Nope it was just a low k's vs2 in Ws2 and with mostly Tomei gear. Still standard bottom end but the full list of bolt ons and including things like endless frotlnt calipers.

Clearly a track car.

That's part of my issue is that 34s like the first one don't seem that common for the money (Inc all spares etc)

I could just play hardball and offer less, want all spares (as he talked about keeping the power fc) and if he says no, then so be it.

that requires a comittment of a days driving to inspect it though and the knowledge that I'll need a build sooner than I might otherwise due to k's

    • Well, turns out not a lot happened from back then to now, between life again, and working on 3 separate other cars (only one of which was mine, and will now be departing the household soon).   So I decided with the whole "don't go outside, it's a cyclone!" Turning in to being not a whole lot, I ventured down to the garage, found a couple of water leaks in the shed (the main one I've already fixed), and then ended up "stuck" as it started pouring rain, and I didn't want to walk back inside in the pouring rain. This meant I ended up taking a look at the Skyline, and trying to work out what past Matt had been upto. I retraced a few things out from scratch, added the rest of the power feeds in that I needed for the indicators, and headlights. Double checked I'd wired a few things up correctly (and worked out how I wired a few things to begin with), updated my sparse notes. Added one of the ground points. Oh, and got really really dusty, as the car is quite dirty. Wrote up quickly what should be left for me to do with the wiring too. Adding the below photos more for my records than anything else. I need to make myself a proper book for the car that details everything, and how I've done it, but for now, this is my records... The third image is my most important one for me, and I need to draw it out into a proper schematic eventually. The last photo is my re-written list, I'd have put it on the white board, except I had to take the white board down to fix one of the water leaks.
