V35 Hid Xenon Low Beam Bulb Keeps Blowing

Hi

I am new to SAU. I have searched for this but not found a conclusive answer.

I have a 2005 V35 Sedan with the factory HID Xenon bulbs. The drivers side low beam bulb keeps blowing. Mistakenly I bought the bulb from the OEM supplier and paid $200. Will never make that mistake again. It has blown after 4 weeks and I have ordered a new set. They are only $10 on eBay.

Anyway I am suspecting I have a ballast problem as the fuse is fine. Anyone else had a similar issue? Where can I find a new ballast at a reasonable price?

Don't go thinking $10 for HID lamps is a good thing. Be prepared to spend a reasonable amount for a good set of Osram or Phillips. Check out previous threads here about recommendations for good HID bulbs and places to get them.

Anyway, if your HID lamps keep blowing, then you're most likely to be right about the ballast. Perhaps an eBay search for replacement ballasts is a good place to start? That's where I'd start looking.
