Hey guys, I got a track day coming up and it'll be my first. Just wanted to know what I should to before to get the car ready ? Will do a full service after the day

overfill the oil

All depends how far you want to go.

Oil and filter change, + what Johnny said.

Check over your cooling system, make sure it's well bled.

Bleed brakes with decent fluid.

Check pads for sufficient material, or replace with uprated items

Check tyres for sufficient tread, set pressures

Check all other fluids, PS, diff, gearbox.

Removed all random loose shit out of car

Pack yourself a little box with some tools and fluids.

Also if you can't afford an oil cooler at least get a massive radiator... GTS-t Skylines have a water/oil heat exchanger.

Those ling long dim sim eBay radiators aren't bad... I've got a Worley one for $170 and it's lasted like 10 track days.

I've got the stock radiator on the car at the moment, will it suffice or do I have to upgrade ? Thanks for all the other info.

You'll be right with the stocker. Just keep an eye on temps.

decided to change the radiator for both aesthetics and to be on the safe side. do you recommend without or with the fans ?

Stock working clutch fan. Add some ducting if you wish.

Keep an eye on the oil temperature (if you don't have a gauge, get one!). Other than that and brakes, you'll be fine. Overfill your oil by half a litre at least.

Can someone explain the overfilling the oil part? Is this to reduce issues with oil being shifted around in the sump?

Should I change the thermostat while I'm at it or no need ?

High revs = sump empties out quicker. So... as Hadouken said.

No, as long as thermostat is working, it'll be fine.

since you're taking out the radiator and dumping fluid everywhere just put in a new OEM thermostat.. if you're unable to get OEM get the Tridon highflow series.. don't get their normal one.. it doesn't flow enough.
