Hi all,

I've been advised to put an engine damper on my RB26 (R32 GT-R). I'd like to know if any of you have had experiences with an engine damper and what it did for you and an estimate in costs would be great too as I have no idea about them.

Thanks in advance for any help. Much appreciated.

Why was it suggested?

An engine damper is like a little shock absorber that goes between the engine and the shock tower to reduce the engine rocking when you get on and off the power.

Good from drifting so the engine doesn't out your balance off as much.

it was used to reduce the virbration of the engine and the movement due to cornering. don't think it is a nessary for RB. but after "downgrade" from 6 to 4 cylinder car, it shake like hell in high rev... i am going to get one very soon.

Thanks for the info guys.

rs73 yes that's it.

It's said that I will get better response from it and yes it will reduce stress on my engine mounts.

HMM. I am wondering whether I really need it or not now. It's not too expensive in any case I suppose. I might try it.

its not as nessessary on inline sixes due to the natural harmony of the crank they dont vibrate as much!!!!

Don't think we really need it for normal street and circuit driving.

However might be needed for hard drifting, not because of engine vibration, but to prevent engine rocking from side to side when throwing your car sideways around a series of tight corners... So if u drift hard, then might worth consider it, otherwise put the money into something else...
