Hey peeps,

Im new to the forum but this is a great place to get info. Has anyone experienced their door actuators going bad? First my two back doors went one at a time and now the front passenger door has gone also. Only the drivers door opens. Can these be fixed or is replacing them my only option? Thanks

With elec window issues it's usually the brushes int he motor that wear and therefore they can sometimes be serviced/fixed to make proper contact for conductivity, but with the lock actuators my understanding is that they just need to be replaced. I had mine go on my previous V35 and after considering getting 2nd hand I figured if going to do it, may as well get new to avoid having the same issue occur again in an unknown period of time given you don't know how old or worn the 2nd hand unit may be from a wrecker.

Faulty actuators was (is) an ongoing problem with V35's - there is a thread on G35Driver that shows how to replace with an off-the-shelf actuator for around $20. I did this mod to my V35 when I first bought it, and the actuator worked fine the whole time I had the car. I have no idea how the V36 actuator works, or if this is a viable option, but I would be checking it out before shelling out hundreds of dollars for new OEM actuators.

The thread is at:

I have never heard before this post about V36's having door lock actuator problems...that too 3 of the 4 doors like you mentioned. i would be checking fuses or wiring before you go buying new actuators. I also got 2 v36s both coupe and sedan and havent seen any such thing in the last 3 years owning them. A good electrician is the way to go imo :)
