Hi Omran got your PM. In my opinion 500 bhp is past the limit for standard internals, ~450 bhp is a far as I would go. If that is Ok, then this is what we did on our R34 GTT which makes 265 rwkw....

* Power FC with Boost Control Kit & Commander (20 rwkw) $1100

* Split dump with mandrel 3.5" exhaust & hi flow cat (25 rwkw) $900

* GCG ball bearing hi flow RB25DET turbo (20 rwkw) $1600

* Tomei 500 cc injectors (0 rwkw) $900

* Tomei 260 Poncams (15 rwkw) $1400

* Z32 AFM (0 rwkw) $200

* Pipercross panel filter in the standard airbox (5 rwkw)$100

* Upgrade the ambient air feed (on a hot day 20 rwkw) $12

* Standard R33/34 GTR intercooler (20 rwkw) $600

* 63 mm pipework from the turbo to the intercooler (goes with I/C) $150

* 75 mm pipework from the intercooler to the throttle body (goes with I/C) $200

* 85 mm aluminium pipework with silicone pie adaptors from the turbo to the AFM (the standard rubber kept getting sucked closed) $80

* OS Giken twin plate clutch (O rwkw) $1700

* Electric fan (remove the standard fan) (4 rwkw) $100

Total ~$9K plus labour (say 4 days at $60 per hour) and tuning (say $500).

Total ~$11.5K (Australian dollars of course)

You will notice it does not have a thick head gasket, I personally don't believe in them at all and at that power level are not necessary anyway. You will also notice no adj cmashaft pulleys. The Tomei cams have so far proved to be prefectly timed standard, so don't waste your money. Being a hi flow of your standard turbo, all the water, oil and air pipework will fit back up as per standard.

Hope that helps, if you really want 500 bhp then let me know as you need quite a different spec plus a bit of internal work. :D

JiMiH: man you wouldnt want to live here, its too hot these days and the heat kills turbo engines......Skylines included.

OMRAN: nice ride you have there, i think i saw it for sale a while ago for 100k DHS, looks great .

anyway i dont care what turbo you are trying to use, but make sure that the engine is well cooled before you start anything, trust me those big turbos get HOT.

I've heard of people busting RB26's only because of the heat issue.

too bad about that RHD law though, i was hoping that i'd get something RHD soon, but it seems like my dreams have evaporated. is this applicable for all the emirates? even UAQ. man i'd really like to get something good outta japan. Any idea why the law's been calcelled?

sorry too many questions. in the meantime enjoy your ride.

Sydneykid ...

thanx alot for replyin ...

that was really helpfull ...

mm i was thinking of 500 hp .. but if it really need some internal changes ... i dont think i will go for that ...

450 .. << not bad at all ...

have u seen the HPI project car .. they did 294rwkw dot know what mod. have been done .. i only saw the big turbo ..mainfold .. wastgate .. thats all what i'v seen ..

any way ..

about the turbo ... * GCG ball bearing hi flow RB25DET turbo (20 rwkw) $1600

where do i get those from .. ?? only AUS ... right .. ??

..

are they good .. i mean as i said befor .. daily use car ... would that turbo take it ...

and all other mods .. would it be ok .... dont need alot of problems ..

and thanx again mate .. that was really great ...

now i have a shopping list ...

i'll get all the stuff .. then i'll start working on the car .. :)

more help would be good .. thanxx .. again

thanxx man ... nice to see some one from uae .. :) ..

mm ..yeah it was on the net .. while ago ... . but i'v taken it much much less then that ..

engine is well cooled ... thanx god the car is in a very good condetion .. 65c thermostat will be fit soon ...

about the RHD ... 100% sure ... all the emirates .. UAQ .. was registering ... ( shaikh saif bin zayed personaly forced them to stop ) ..

and one more thing ... 3 days ago .. they told me that no more skyline RHD nor LHD will ever registered in UAE ... ( not sure yet ) .. that would be really bad ... but some how good ... coz most new drivers (kids) buy skylines (cheap ..mostly r32) .. and make alot of troubles ..

i'll make sure about that ...and i'll let u know ..

You could go to One of the workshops in Dubai and the could custom build a maifold for your car, they will also fit the intercooler and the fuel system for your car, I have tried them they are ok, they did my Nissan Patrol Turbo and intercooler ,they fit it with a Greddy 78 turbo and i was running 2 bar 800 rwd hp, I guess you will know me Omran Since i mentioned my car, fellows from austrailia

(its a NissanPatrol 2003 4x4 4.8l vtec) Fully Modified Stroker Engine One of many 4x4's that are custom made in the UAE. :flamed:

Do you have any more info/pics/vids of this Patrol?? Sounds like a beast :)

Forgot to say this but the only turbo that seems to be popular around here is the Trust T-88 (they call it greddy here...how pitiful)

reason is most cars that come already modified (japan or thailand) have this turbo. and its cheap (for the power) and not very difficult to repair . i dont think its a very good turbo given the spool up time necessary. i think a single 3037s will suit your application, but then again i could be wrong.

remember if you take care of your turbo it will last a long time, regardless of what everyone say. (unless you get that t51z<<

... thanxx for the help mate ....

i dont like thick gasket too .... but if more power needed with more boost .. i think its a must ...

any way ... i'd like to have some info about the 500hp ..

what other spec's do i need ... for the 500 thing

thanx for the help bro ...

    • Can you log IAT? Whilst WTA coolers have their place, doing any sort of sustained run is not one of them There are fixes that slow down the heat soak, like ice boxes, which don't last that long, and interchillers, which are fairly expensive, up grades to the WTA cooling radiator, which may require a bigger pump, and upgrades to the reservoir size,  and upgrades to the cooling fans, but, it all still heat soaks, and takes ages to come down in hot weather  For a turbo, that isn't locked into WTA like my PD blower is, can you not possibly swap to a nice air to air intercooler????, it would be better for sustained runs then, and have alot less things that could go wrong in my opinion
    • So, the other thing I've sorted is a baseline dyno run up at Unigroup's new location. The auto trans was a little unco-operative by both shifting down when the throttle was floored on the dyno (so Mark had to ramp it up more slowly than in a manual) and also by shifting up at 6,000 even in sports mode instead of the indicated redline of 7,000 Still, on a hot day it made 240rwkw at 16psi which seems about right for 300kw (400hp) through an auto at the wheels.  The shape of the curve is not quite right because it was not full throttle to about 4,500 to stop it kicking down, but until I can get a tune on the auto trans control this was the best we could do.....full boost will be well below 5,000 once that is sorted, I'll get some data logs when I can to confirm For comparison, the R32 made 255 at 12psi (at 4,500) on the same dyno with tune, n1 turbos, cam gears, big exhaust but otherwise all standard so the v37 is likely a little better out of the box. One thing that is very clear is that the standard water to air intercoolers are not up to sustained use at full throttle in warm ambient temps. After about 5 runs (so only a few minutes full throttle), it was pulling boost and timing and dropping 10-15% power. Unfortunately I didn't get that printout and the Unigroup guys are away at the moment, will try and get hold of it on their return. So, looks like a healthy engine to start modifying and the only real area of concern is the w2a heat exchangers which the aftermarket has plenty of solutions for
    • I maintain it actually looked really nice in person. So much so that I thought "No, this is illegal" but there it was, clear as day. I think we can easily call the wing and wheels/height to be transformative. Not saying it's better than the GR Whatever, or the 86, or the WRX STI or anything of that sort (the internet says it all bolts up so you can buy best of all worlds?) but it's still at least a thing and not nearly AS bad as people say.
    • That's less offensive than the previous gen.....except for all that ugly black tupperware around the edges. Blerck!
    • I leant out the window recently and took a picture of this new WRX. It looked real damn fine in person. It's faster around a track (stock) than a (stock) GR Yaris. It's much more practical despite being heavier. It's significantly cheaper. This gen tunes really well, much better than others. .... I think they're probably a lot better than people expect.
