Rb25det Conversion Vs Ute

Hi guys

This might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I'm just about to start on a rb25det manual conversion into a vs commodore ute. I'm just wondering if anyone has done this conversion on here? I'm wanting to know what specific parts were used, like gear box mount, was a custom gearbox crossmember made? Which sump? Vl k frame etc

Hi Taylor,

I believe you will require a vl 6 cyl subframe.

There is a power steering and non-power steering version of the sub frame( different rack mounts) available, stick with the ps version and I think the vs rack will bolt up to it.

This should allow you to bolt the engine to the sub frame with factory mounts and sump and bolt straight into the car.

I would look at a lot of vl parts (ps hoses)for the conversion as engine bays are similar .

Do you know anything about diff centres an whats interchangeable with the borgwarner commodores? I've been told that pintaras are? An also is it 4:11 diff gears standard in r33 gtst? Thanks

4:11 diff gears on turbo models.

R31 Pintara diff gears are 4:11, R31 Skyline are 3.89 auto 3.7 manual. Borg Whiner BW78.
