Hello,

Running an R33 GTST with stage 1 mods ECU remap front mount intercooler cat back exhaust and induction filter with a tru boost controller.

Just wondering im running it around 12 PSI and in the high revs I see occasional spikes of up to 15PSI but less than one second because it doesn't operate the boost alarm set at 13 psi.

Is this normal or will it harm the standard turbo ?

Cheers for any advice.

Tom

15psi is a little high but only for a split second could just be because the controller its a little slow to react. Even 12 psi will shorten the life span of your turbo, currently i only run 10psi all day and seems to be handling it but you won't know till you check it out.

Quite a few people I think run 12 psi with no problems .. but I been doing some research and I believe if the wastegate actuator feed is moved to the (hot side) straight after the turbo it will reduce the spike greatly ..the front mount intercooler install adds a much longer route for the airflow to the actuator if use the original pipe feed. So will be trying a actuator feed relocation soon to test this out. :)
