Hey, been looking for similar problems on the forum but wasn't too sure still.

Basically, my m35 stutters when driving slowly and turning tight, happened the first time when doing a U turn and since, when I am parking/reversing/...

I can take a video of the car doing it if you want to help explaining the problem.

I have an extra unrelated question. There is a small switch just behind the panel where the obd2 connector is, anyone would know what it is?

Thanks!

shudder could be because of the "tight corner phenomenon" and the 4wd system but thats just a guess. The switch sounds like it could be to turn on the attesa pump when u need to bleed the system

Ha! I've pressed that switch multiple times and not too sure in which position I left it :/

The shudder is quite intense once it starts, is there a way to easily turn off the 4WD to validate that ?

All this is just speculation tho, my car has the shudder at full lock too ;). I guess for the switch you could flick it on and off and listen for your pump under the back right hand side of your car while your car is off. if the pump don't turn on then its not the switch lol

No there isn't an easy or safe way. These have a different Awd system to the c34. It is not good for the transfer case. The only way to properly make it rear wheel drive is to pull the front drive shaft

Took the car for a ride and couldn't get it to shudder again so no video yet of it..

For the switch, I tried to follow the cables ( red and black+red) and they go up in the ride side of the steering wheel in the dash.

Maybe it's related to the alarm or something. The car also has this little remote to start it from outside (which doesn't work).

The switch is definitely not stock as it was fitted with screws in two holes in the lower dash just above the pedals. Can't see any light turning on/off when playing with it.

I never got the remote with my car. I just done some research to find out what the switch was for. Mine has a silver sticker above it with Japanese writing. Had it translated and yeah it is remote start

Ha! That's it then, got the same sticker so that's sorted out ! I'll get a video when the car shudders again and put it here, should help with the troubleshooting. Weird that it doesn't happen every time (maybe only when really hot, will have to test)

    • Do the following first and get back to us. - Clean and verify your IACV - Verify for vacuum leaks/post MAF leaks. (Pressure test is the best and cheapest way) - Do you have a BOV with stock ecu/MAF? If so, remove it.
    • Hey all, The skyline I have is stalling when the engine is at normal operating temp.  When starting it while it is cold, it'll run just fine.  I have replaced the battery (bad cell), I have replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter and clean the MAF sensor.  Any other suggestions?
    • Thanks for all the information on this.  I tried ordering the parts from Amayama website and all 3 Solenoids are discontinued and not available.  Does anyone have any other websites to suggest that I could find the parts?   Separate issue-- I will start a new thread, but basically the vehicle is stalling when warmed up.
    • It's unfortunate what Tomei USA has done to Tomei's name in general. I'm very weary of ordering parts from them now. I only order direct from a Japanse source (e.g Nengun). At least their logos are different, so you end up knowing what you have.
    • Update Issues 5 (plus #4) - 10 After making a claim about issue #4's missing part, DeAgostini Japan sent a whole new issue #4 and it arrived about 2 weeks after that. That was back in early March. It took another 4 weeks to receive issues 5 - 13 though. This update is for issues 5 - 10. Ove the 5 issues the front left suspension and most of the engine have been completed. The quality of the castings and fit of the parts is quite good, it seems better than DeAgostini's BNR34 Skyline GT-R from the Fast & Furious 2 movie, which (to me anyway) doesn't seem to have as tight tolerances or quite as accurate castings.  Each issue has a lot of info about the 1989 - 1993 Skyline range and other Nissan models from that era, but the focus is on the BNR32 Skyline GT-R Nismo and the various racing it did in Japan, Europe (Spa 24hrs) and of course Australia. I've included some text translated with Google Lens in some photos and will add to them if there's anything worth including.
