$1400 + shipping + tax/duty

It would surely be nearly cheaper to go a full drysump set up. From what i have been told this is the ultimate oil circulation system as you can have a greater oil capacity (which leads to lower oil temp or the ability to scrub more heat off the oil)

greater oil controll and pressure, the ability to have multiple oil pick ups from the sump (ie front, middle and rear pick ups)

Just a thought

Opinions?

You might Mr. Moneybags, but I bloody hope not. The plan is to get out in Spring. I haven't even been out in the damn Mini! Let's see if you can tally 3 more GTRs and a few porkers by then!

That's what I like about this forum, we have discussions that don't turn aggressive like I've witnessed on other forums. When I spoke to Ben he told me that it's often due to the grade of oil, not the oil per se. I never said it was due to oil failing. If one's using a 0W40 oil then it's too thin for serious trackwork; one should be using a 10W60 oil that's better at holding oil pressure and of higher viscosity when under extreme conditions. I also never said that we don't need to add a baffled sump in order to track a car... all I stated was that I'd spoken to Ben and was informed that a lot of failures are due to poor oil choice.

I run an oil cooler in my car, and usually add a little more oil on a track day - it was recommended I run 1L more.

Granted an engine is still at risk of failing without a baffled sump and increased capacity, but a car with that upgrade can still suffer spun bearings from oil starvation can it not?

I know this wont surprise anyone that knows me, but got a decent offer on the car yesterday and considering taking it.

Damn i get bored quickly, car is sorted and near perfect, nufin left to do...im bored now.

Dean

how about something few ever consider, like getting a R33 GTS25t to a point where it's faster around a track than almost all, or even all GTR's present. A V8SC still holds a faster time around Sandown than Ben and it's RWD :D

I can think of a likely project vehicle.....already started :D

sounds too hard to me, it would be like transferring everything off my car except the engine and going from there.

might be easier to just tear up $100 notes.

We'll If I had the knowhow like most of you guys here, My dream would be to transplant a GTR including all the running gear, suspension, motor, 4wd system etc into an AC Cobra replica...

Now that would have to be some ball tearing ride!

Tank of gas  ...nah mate, dont need it, the car doesnt run so its really good on gas consumption, soles of your shoes seem to get worn out quick though. :D

Any chance of getting a bit more detail on the turbo, or is it a Race Pace/closed doors arrangement?

I'm hoping, when the time is right, that a good suspension setup and cheater tyres will help me to a really fast time. To that end I'll limit power so I can use it more, kinda like the guy at the recent NDSOC meeting who won his class at Targa Tassie and had a good enough time overall that he would have come 7th outright, in an NA 2 litre Escort. Just makes you think is all the power worth it.

as much as i like rb26, in a cobra an efi v8 is the go, existing engine would cost similar, but for the near $10k u have to spend on the rb26 to get 300kw plus u could whack a pair of turbs on the v8 and smoke the rb26.

the yanks are running 8s with mustangs and 5ltrs with one big turbo

Yeah they're not cheap, best price I could find so far is around $1200 from greenline, and add another $200 for the drive collar, so that's around $1400 + shipping...

You don't need the drive collar Jack, It's for the 32s.
