Also, you're likely checking the retail exchange rate. You can probably ignore that, find the spot rate and deduct around 1 yen and that's the exchange rate you'll get. Ben will tell you how it's done if/when you buy a car

We purchased the car on the 15th of May and it landed at the port (Sydney/Wollongong) on the 19th of June. Keep in mind this was fairly fast.

Then it spent a week in customs because my import approval was a bit late (because the car shipped so fast). Compliance took the longest, it spent around 7 weeks in the workshop awaiting the import plate. That's the department of transports fault though, not much you can do. While it was at the shop though I was able to visit it as much as I wanted, and even got to drive it a few times and install a couple of parts so it wasn't so bad.

If you're in Sydney get Ben to send the car to Top Secret in Blacktown for compliance.
