Cabin Air Filter Wgn34

I have looked around on the forums for a bit now and hadn't found any clear answers so tried it out myself and wanted to let everyone know that this works.

If you are looking for a cabin air filter for you wgnc34 series 2 I found that the filter from the Nissan Pathfinder R50 or Infiniti QX4 works. Below is a installation guide and comparison of filters

Open your glove box, squeeze the sides in to get it around the edges, disconnect the little white plastic clip at the back attacked to a string.

There are 4 screws on top and two on either side of them glove box

Remove the glove box from vehicle

Remove little metal clip on the bottom and pull filters out.

Here are 3 Side by side comparisons of old filter and pathfinder filter. As you can see they are the same size, except slightly thinner

Fits in and seals perfectly

For those in Canada you can pick this filter up from your local Canadian tire. Please post in the reply what the part numbers are for your country (FRAM FILTER CF10555)

I'm sure this is the same for R34 skylines as well

For us in Australia, it can be bought from Supercheap Auto and any other store that stocks Ryco filters. Not sure how many will have it in stock in store... Supercheap don't seem to have them normally, but they can order it in.

(Found - as it is the same as the R50 Pathfinder as mentioned above, just a little thinner.)

Bumping this because it is national you-might-be-running-aircon-through-disgusting-filters awareness day.

Did this the other day in my Series 2 Stagea. I was sufficiently disgusted. I presume the filters were changed some time in Japan going by the stickers in the glovebox, but I don't think they have seen any attention since. It's super easy to swap so really no excuse there. The Ryco RCA318P filters that James mentioned seem fine.

My lesson learned: try out the fan before screwing everything back in. I had old leaves and shit in the compartment when I took out the old filters. Brushed it it out but didn't vacuum. Put it back together with the new filters, turned on the fan and was blessed with a generous sprinkling of dusty debris. I presume vacuuming may have avoided it. Maybe.

Attached is a comparison of the old and new filters. Though photos don't quite do it justice. There is this human instinct to get closer and smell things that look wrong. These looked bad enough that I didn't.
