Hi,

I have bought a set of CV shafts for an R32 GTR to fit in the GTS4. After a few mix ups, i managed to get a drivers side and passenger side rebooted and greased.

Drivers side went in easy and then i started on the passenger side.

Installed it ok, put everything together and took it for a test drive.... while i was working on the front end i decided to replace the tie rod ends on the steering amongst other bushes.I knew that everything would be a little misaligned so i took it easy. At around 40km/hr i started to get a big vibration and clicking noise from the front. I turned around with the thought, wow, have to get everything aligned.

Since then i have thrown the old CV away, after briefly lining it up side by side with the replacement and roughly looking at it thinking, she'll be right.

Now, i have been told the shafts are for an R32, but when i measured the passenger (upright, gearbox side on the floor and shafts pushed right in) the length was 593mm. I have since been told they are meant to be 574mm long (had a bloke in a CV shop with some genuine ones measure it)

Does anyone know the exact length of the R32 GTR passenger side shaft? I thought google was my friend but we seem to be on the wrong page...

OR can anyone let me know what CV shaft i have?

TL;DR - CV shaft too long...

Cheers Duncan,

Will put the CV back in and see if it is something else.

Just thinking about it, i might try extending the steering, toe and camber arms (everything is currently adjustable) by winding out a few threads. Keep that as the base and work from there...
