Hiya from the US... shamed not to see a Chevy Z06 on that list of cars you want. Either way... I drive the US Silvia varient, dubbed the 240SX. Its a 96 S14 and it has the 155hp/160ft.lbs. 2.4L N/a KA24DE motor, yes we got jacked on the motor deal! Alot of people here swap the SR20DETs into their cars, but I find that to be boring and plain to be just like everyone else. So Ive decided to swap the RB25DET motor into my S14. I know only a few things about the motor and the whole intention of me being here is to learn about it. I am aware of the turbocharger's downfall with the "plastic" compressor wheel and the ceramic turbine. Although its not too much of a bad thing since it should spool incredibly quick with an inline-6 and such lightweight internals (refering to the turbo's internals). Either way nice to find this forum. Oh and some dyno gains whould be nice!

Be wary the RB25DET is a lot heavier than the SR20DET and will make the S14 of yours understeer a bit more.

Also I've only heard good things about the S15 SR20DET - it has an almost completely flat torque curve unlike the RB25DET which has stuff all power till it gets above about 2500RPM... But when it does, it boogies :)

S15 Motor = 3000-4000 US

RB25DET = 1000-2000 US

Plus the SR20DET is too boring for me. Doesnt have that inline 6 growl and there are 8 people in my town alone with that motor in their 240SXs.

As for the weight... im getting Tein adjustable coilovers with custom spring rates to accomodate the new weight. I also will be relocating the battery to the rear.

Hi Nismo_Freak...

You're right about the factory turbo, it spools up quickly and delivers good pressure. Try and get a series 1 turbo cos it is stronger than a series 2. Bottom end torque is not that bad but of course once the turbo starts spooling at 2500rpm the power kicks in.

      This could be sold and shipped to the US for many gold pieces. RMS has no say in that. Ask various Western Sydney inhabitants how it works.

      Ha ha ha, mine loves to spend, all on the dogs (they're our kids, and her spending would likely rival that of some people raising children!) the only benefit is, her spending is tax deductible as she runs a business in the dog industry 😛 The above all means she can spend race car budget quicker than I can. 😛 That and a lot of the things I want are very expensive, and I can be a bit "you want how much for that?!" And at other times overly impulsive. Or I start the w days of research, get to day 1.5 and get really annoyed that no one will advertise actual specifics and it's just marketting BS and I go "well, now I don't want anything to do with that now!" Also I hate paying lots of money for something I can make from $50 in materials. Then I get the shits halfway through making things and wonder why others who just buy parts have more fun... 😛

      Their 240Z with the RB26 would be a real nice thing to have in a garage to come out for an occasional weekend cruise It's such a cool thing in so many ways Sadly, we have a blue 240Z shell that I walk past every day, just sitting outside a shed at work, it has been slowly disintegrating and falling apart into the ground for the last few years, the owner cannot be found, and I am unable to "claim it" I've been told by work and the RMS, the rust in the body is excessive though, and it has had most of the salvageable stuff, like panels, trim and switch gear stripped off it over the last year or two, work keeps threatening to put it in one of our metal scrap bins, I wish they did though, as it makes Mark sad walking past it

      Good tips, I like it! 😂😂 My wife is a LOT more frugal than me so it's only me we need to worry about! A splurge to her is buying 2 pairs of socks in one visit at Kmart!

      Haha, the appropriate response to the question "Is this new?" is "I've had this for a while.". With the unspoken small print that a while may be the time since this morning or five years ago   And to be fair I learned that from the best, i.e. my wife. Because it goes both ways.
