Hello, I may be about to buy my first skyline finally. I intend to drift/race it. But I'm unsure as to if I want a dedicated racecar that can't be put into the road (cut chassis, transport by trailer etc), or a car that I can track and put it into the road if I wanted too down the line.

What would you do or have done? Personal opinions are wanted!

Do you want to drive the car on the street at all? do you have access to another car/daily? How often do you see yourself visiting the track? do you need this car to be unregistered? Do you need a weld in cage? etc etc

Think about what you want from the car

That's what I was after. Decided I don't want a track dedicated car, it's only limited to one thing. Just in case I want to put it back on the road or simply to take it to the track. Cheers maaaaate

i'd bash dream boats just to make a name for myself.

You know if you want a track car. it's a firm decision. Until then, you want a street car.

Honestly, a dedicated track car is so far removed from a "track" capable road car.

My silvia has stuff done to it that's not even remotely legal is is heaps of fun on the track. Big front diffuser, big wing, flames, full fixed seating mount etc.

I'm also buying a wekender though so when budget permits I say you need both.
