Hey Bill,

I'm curious as in how do you mount the Adaptronic ECU?

Is it mounted where the stock ecu resides in?

Hey Grant, yeah it lives in the same location as the factory ecu. I just had to move a couple of relays out of the way and drilled one hole to mount it where I wanted it. Plastic foot well cover fits over it and hides it nicely. I'll take a pic when I get a chance and put it up.

Hey Grant. Here's the pics. I used to have it the other way so the loom plugged in from the right but it didn't leave much room for the USB and wideband input, I ended up snapping the USB port off. Adaptronic was very helpful. This way gives plenty of room above for those inputs and it fits nice and neat, the cover also fits back on perfectly. I did also relocate 2 relays. Im not sure if the GTR is any different but I guess you're going to find out pretty soon. bf0b7a751511ce4c812c408582c7417e.jpg7af54f6f57fa41d2e78baf2b3d5ba078.jpge49da880cdb1f1daf82c1cd50492fbc4.jpg

Thanks again Bill.

I've sussed out another solution last night.

Take apart brackets from stock ECU and then I compared it to both Power FC I have and stock ECU with Adaptronic, width is the same and it mounts like stock ECU do.

The plan is to velcro strip to hold it together, see how I go.

Thanks again.

I shaved off the tabs and used the OEM brackets and drilled into it.. works a treat however the rear USB plug sits against the firewall padding.. but using a 90 degree USB plug work "ok".

I too snapped off my USB plug, but I managed to solder it back and then applied 1000000000x coats of super glue to it LOL

Super glue ftw. In my case I burnt an led while trying to solder the USB back on. Oops. The guys at adaptronic came to my rescue. Absolute legends.

oooots!

need Plazmaman cooler [emoji4]

That would be nice but its probably worth more than my car, lol. AWD would be nice too, that ain't gonna happen either. Can't afford any more mods, too busy pumping e85 in the fuel tank and helping United make massive ethanol profits[emoji3]

Probably could get a generic 76mm pro series core at a good price :)

Holla if you're ever interested.. also can get good prices on DBA rotors, Hel lines and especially Intima Pads!

New tyres fitted this morning. Buy 3 get 1 free. Fresh 2016 production 265/35/18 AD08R. Thank you Mr Yokohama and Mr Bob Jane for the excellent pricing. Definitely an improvement over the Achilles 123S which weren't bad but just did not last.

Looks awesome! Do you drive this daily?

Yep, driven just about every day and at every possible opportunity. I thought about putting a baby seat in the back so I could drive it even more but stopped short on that idea[emoji3] . lol
shit got real when you daily some AD08s lol

At $263 each fitted. I can afford to daily them. Got to try to get the power to the ground somehow. For that price, I'd choose ad08's every time. Sadly it is very rare, I think the guys at Bob Jane may have even f#*ked up with that price but I sure as hell wasn't going to question it. I couldn't say yes any quicker actually[emoji12]

    • ..could be worse... but out here, renting private affords some luxuries ...we've even been told the Sept dateline isn't critical, and I'd rather move stuff in the cool of winter, than slogging it out in the heat. Recall we were talking about the million dollar view this place has?...that's what he got for it... (won't be so nice when the quarry happens at the back in the future...lol..)... ...cool, I'll stick the wiper motor in a wee box...umm.... the pinny is GLX trim ~ I think that's about as close as it gets to Silo spec when it comes to the S2 pinny...ie; electric mirrors etc etc...dunno about the trip computer/wiring...I do electronics repair, I'd be willing to take a look at it for you. As you saw, all the dash is there in that car..and thinking about it, it'd be easier to pull the whole center section out, rather than just the ashtray and rails, but your call...
    • The "sacrifice of low end" is now basically irrelevant in 2025. Turbo/ecu/fabrication/and other tech advancements gives a vast array of options to mitigated any of it. My setup now is a fantastic example of this. 300whp / 20psi @ 3500rpm from a 600hp turbo setup on a notoriety low reading Dyno Dynamics roller dyno, is almost unmatched on all of SAU and other forums. The only other turbo i've seen that can achieve this is a BW EFR + twin scroll / twin gates etc etc etc... ps. tuned by Matty Spry at P.I.T.S as far as getting to the 600 figure, while enlarging your itb's alone probably won't get you there, as Sucram has stated above, it will certainly help. Just do it Predator1 my brother hahaha 🙂
    • I use Taaarks/efi solutions ones. Years, and no issues.
    • At the Botany heavy vehicle inspection centre. At the time there were only 2 locations that did IM240 testing for free, the other location was at Penrith. I did a quick google, seems like the Botany and Penrith inspection centre is closed now though About an hour of my time.  At the time you could. They are closed now   No it was Government run, the site was attached to the RTA from memory. The guys running it at the time were awesome, if you didn't pass the test, they handed you the results and said make changes to your car/tune and have another go later. You drove in registered, failed, and drove out registered.   Obviously though if you were defected, sent there, failed. You remained unregistered.  From my 5 minutes of research (have a look at the date on my test results) looks like things have changed. So, I can't see any way to get this test done for free now Seems like you'll need to call around the engineering places doing the Vehicle Safety Compliance Certification Scheme or call around workshops with a dyno and try and get a RG240 test. No idea how expensive that is though or how easy it is to find a place offering it.  Bit depressing learning about this now. The first car I had engineered in NSW cost me about $250 all up.... So kids these days can't buy houses, looks like getting your car legal and engineered in NSW is another thing on the list of things they can't afford. Great.
