Hi all i have a R33 gtst auto at the moment i have about 170 rwkw the mods are safc2, GFB Stealth blow off value, Blitz sbc boost controler, 3inch exaust & a blitz front mount intercooler it is running 11 psi at the moment and i am wanting about 200 rwkw so if some one could suggest some mods that would get me around the 200 rkwk area. I dont realy wanna spend thousands either but open to sugestions

Would cam gears do the job or would i be looking at a new turbo then if i buy a new turbo would i have to get bigger injectors and fuel pump or is there something else i could do well thanks for ya help

bigger intake and outlet for the turbo

eg dump pipe 3' and metal pipe replacement(thats just my suggestion as mine is starting to collapse), stage 2 shift clutch so the trans can handle the power ya putting through

GTR pump and computer you should easily be there if not it'll likely be arounf the 220rwkw

Hi all thanks for ya help i might try getting a dump pipe from some where and trying the fuel pump. i have heard i might be able to get a uni chip installed but then i would have to take my blitz boost controler off has anyone else have a uni chip are these good ?

fuel pump, adjustable fuel regulator, dump pipe, hi-flow cat, bump boost up to 12-14psi (ran my stock turbo on 1bar for round 2 years an still was in good condition when removed for the upgrade), pod filter. all that should get you to 200kW+

as far as unichip, i think its only an option for R32's, havent heard much about them.

to be honest, havent really researched into it as far as the AUTO bit goes being I have a manual, surely theres a powerFC with the auto option, or a Microtech or the new Wolf 3D?

there are plenty of high powered R33 auto's out there, an I'm sure they cant be running on a stock computer. Send all the ECU manufacturers an email and find out, thats what I'd do.

or start a new thread on R33 AUTO AFTERMARKET ECU'S?

What ECU do you suggest, keeping in mind that it's an auto?
surely theres a powerFC

Nope manual only for Skylines

or a Microtech

Nope

or the new Wolf 3D

Close, but still has gearshift quality problems and gearbox durability is questionable.

Send all the ECU manufacturers an email and find out, thats what I'd do.

Waste of time, they tell you they will, and then when you find they don't, try getting your money back?

The only true HIGH powered ones I have seen have "non electronic" autos (Raceglides etc).

Yep that's been done a heap of times, no one has a GOOD ecu yet. There are a few that are close, but no cigar.

Then why did you tell MR R33 GTST to get an ECU, when there isn't one? He spelled it out in the first sentence of his opening post

Hi all i have a R33 gtst auto

Sorry, that last one was a bit harsh :P

Next time your down in Adelaide give me a PM. My auto works fine and has been tuned at Tillbroks and MorPower. Admittedly I am not running huge power yet (only 200rwkw) but I havnt taken the plunge on a new turbo yet.

Are you still running the standard ecu to control the ignition for the gearchanges?

We are racing at Malala in late August, maybe try it then?

no- I just pulled the standard ecu and replaced it with the PFC - no problems.

I have been told by others many times that this wont work because a friend of a friend knows someone that heard that this wont work, but my argument is "look at mine, no problems and it all works well - including the gear changes.

I have a wolf3d in my auto skyline and its getting dyno tuned tomorrow........the gear changes arent that bad but it does hold the gears a bit longer and 1-2 is a little more jerky. I have read on this forum that if i run 2 wires from the wolf3d loom to the auto ecu and tap into the TPS and tacho wires it will shift fine.

I have been searching for a wiring diagram for the auto r33 ecu but i cant find one, so i dont know which wires to tap into......if anyone has the diagram ill be able to try this and know for sure.

But.........

Since it is designed for a manual, the Power FC has no provision for retarding the ignition on gearchanges. In fact it doesn't even know that there are gear changes, since it has no programming to talk/listen to the auto ecu. Unless you lift your foot, this means that you get full power (torque) during the gearchange. This is not good for smooth changes and it is very harsh on the auto. The most wear occurs on the slippage during gearchanges, having full power then is not so good. ;)

This is not "friend of a friend" stuff, plus I have tried a number of times to get it to work with quite a few ECU's. Always the same problem, jerky shifts and flaring on the change. We saw a 40 degree increase in gearbox oil temp in a 20 minute drive as a result. Plus it get worse very quickly, over 200 rwkw and I reckon I could kill a gearbox in a week.

It's not like you plug the PFC in and the engine won't run, that's simply not the case. It runs perfectly fine and can be tuned just the same as a manual. It is the interface to the auto that is the problem.

Maybe it's time for some more research, I will be talking to Tillbrooks tomorrow, I might as well ask some deep and meaningful questions.

    • I can ship Nismo floor mats to you: https://www.oemsoko.co.jp/products/nismo-floor-mats-for-skyline-r33-bcnr33-stagea-wgnc34?_pos=1&_sid=9278c1467&_ss=r
    • Here's the link: https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/epc/nissan-japan/stagea/wgnc34/6642/misc/G49?frame_no=WGNC34-137122 What you think about it? The same product i found on nengun: https://www.nengun.com/oem/parts/40567/MiPwn5qAMfCfmpxHNDnwn5q9MDAx8J-QiW9sZC1qcC0xMTAtRzQ5LS0wMDE/Floor+Carpet+%2F+Mat+2/0688339eba149c19 Bot i have spoken to 😅 ensured me, that mats are 100% original, oem product. I have my doubts. I also heard what you mentioned, that nengun often offers items that are actual not available... On the other hand mats i found on japanese yahoo or ebay are in poor condition and still quite expensive so i'd rather wait for some better offers. My location - Poland. We literaly don't have ANY market for used Stagea parts so need to search outside Europe.
    • You can’t see much on the other side as the lcd is there I don’t think it’s the same as the m33 beside it as the markings on top is not the same was hoping someone had a good quality photo or if they just happened to have the unit in hand, quickly take the cover off and take a photo to clearly show the marking on top to identify the diode   the unit is currently with an electronics repair shop so I can’t take another photo at the moment hopefully they are smart enough to know if it’s a zener diode or not
    • I'd be very surprised if you can buy new OEM mats. But if you can, I want some too!  Do you have links to the variations you found? Also, where are you located? I found that Nengun is happy to list items to purchase but when you do buy them you'll get an email that it's actually discontinued. As far as I know the variations in floor mats are different colour schemes as well as automatic and manual having a slightly different shape. The automatic ones fit into a manual car without issues, but I think you'd have trouble fitting the other way around. I have photos that show the shape difference if you care. FWIW I bought sets of used floor mats in decent condition at yahoo auctions.
    • Hi 🙋‍♂️. Just bought my Unicorn but the interior need some minor work so it would match my expectations ;). I noticed it is hard to get used oem floor mats in good condition so i started to dig if there's any chance to buy set of new ones. I found two websites - nengun and amayama and it looks like one can still buy factory new floor mats in Japan, but thers a small issue. Some mats (i assume genuine, oem ones) are marked as G4900 and these are "discontinued". The ones you can buy are marked as G4911 but i have no idea if these are also oem, made by other producer or some lower quality replacements that looks entirely different. Can anyone help? 😃  P.s. there is also some strange indication - 0V005, 0V015 and 0V505. Any idea what does it mean? Would appreciate any help with this 🙏
