V36 Sat Nav And Tv

OK i know that this topic has already been ask but im just gonna ask anyways

so does anyone know or have any updates for the satnav/English conversion ?

and also anyone one knows anything about converting the TV to Au ??

Japan uses analogue TV signals which are not used in Australia anymore. We use DVT-B signal so you would need to install a Digital TV Tuner into your car via Video put on console.

i believe this is from what Chris Rogers has said previously: "There are no maps for this unit used in the Australian market. You can install a aftermarket navigation unit to the factory radio via Video input however the touch screen feature wont work (as of now)"

Someone also mentioned to me the format the maps are loaded into the cars are NTSC/PAL (one or the other) and australian maps are only the other kind.

In short, language conversion is difficult and expensive. TV conversion is not feasible, better to consider an external unit plugged into the car's AV sockets in the centre console.

For the rest, do some searching and reading like the rest of us. It's not as difficult as the conversions.

More accurately, Japan decommissioned analogue in March 2012, so any vehicle manufactured up until then (if not slightly earlier), would have an analogue tuner.

Thereafter, I'd expect them to have DVB-T receivers but nevertheless, the colour system that Japan uses is completely different to Australia (NTSC vs PAL) so even if it did receive our channels, there's the possibility that the receiver doesn't function as a multistandard unit anyway. It's not an expensive exercise to make it multisystem but we're talking about motor vehicle manufacturers here.

Nonetheless, your recommendation is the best one but I don't watch any FTA TV at home, so I'm happy just screen mirroring from my mobile phone instead for the GPS or the occasional live webstream.

what phone do you use ?

is its a iphone it had to be jail broken ?
