I was saying that because you dont see much 33's posted up on prestige ....

one reason i think that is because why import a R33 if you can get one here ?

just my 2 cents.

What the hell? You think people are going to stop buying GTR's because a freaking Lancer is now able to be imported.

You are nuts.

:headspin:

That prestige one looks like the engine got water all over it

$45,000 for that?

33GTRs are only $35,000 if you look, not that it matters, but they need to be a similar price to 'phase' out the 33GTR

i dont understand the 4 doors either, maybe they wanted a longer wheelbase, but even then just extend the driver cabin back etc

If you have bonnet vent that is what happens, what did you expect?

Price wise E7 are newer and BCNR33 are old, nothing to do with performance...that's just how the market works. E7 internally are...stronger rods, pistons etc which owners of earlier evos are sourcing to drop into their evos...saves $$$ buying JUN or HKS stuff.

And don't hate the Evo because it chops GT-Rs around the circuit. That is a fact, no one doubts that. Could it be because the Evos run wider F/R track than the puny GT-Rs :D...who just run wide fenders to make it look wide :D. Most famous time attack battle, Tsukaba...how many GT-Rs in the top 5 or 10 compared to how many Evos, not to mention the 2 GT-Rs there are Saurus BNR32 and the M Speed BNR34, the whale is an unloved child ;).

All seriousness, no one car is better and you learn to appreciate them all. Else you learn the hard way getting severely chopped, this is what you learn over here. Ever seen the HRF Starlet chop a BNR34 VSpec with 400+ps, HRF can built you a Starlet which runs 11s, hits a top speed of 298km/h with all work, parts including the cost of the car for only 1Mil Yen.

I love the look over the E7's over the E8's... definitely... very angular and almost clinical, but, don't have $45k... and would probably buy an R33 GTR or a *good* R34 GTT.

Evo_lee: but we're talking about street here, not heavily modified cars. :D Let's face it, the Evo's are relatively stuffed full electro-jiggery, compared to the GTR's. Yes, GTR's have super-hicas and altezza but considering that HICAS is generally thrown out for circuit work and altezza is on-demand 4wd compared to the Evo's full time AWD and the 'super' active yaw control, smart abs, etc, etc, it's easy to see why racing teams can really make them shuffle it around a circuit.

But... on the street, with $45k in your pocket... is the Evo actually faster than a GTR? I"m having a hard time believing it, at least in a straight line. .6L worth of capacity, an extra turbo, it's almost overwhelming in simple terms of 'I have more'. (But, as always, more than happy for people to proof me wrong. :D )

If I had $45k, it'd be an R33 GTR with suspension, two bigger turbos, fuel bits and maybe a better headunit. Or an R33 GTR and a trip to japan to see the country it was born in. ;)

Scriby, I never said a stock E7 was faster...as you all know the quickest stock GT-R is the BCNR33 with a 13.06s quarter, the BNR34 runs 13.4s. An E7 is actually slower then my Evo stock...E8 and E8.5 get her back up to 13.5s

True also the Atessa system in the GT-R is ancient these days, as I mentioned in another forum. Where they recently did a test for the best 25 4WD systems in Japan. The GT-R atessa system didn't even rate, but the new Nissan e-4WD came in 3rd behind the STi/Legacy 4WD system and the Evo AYC 4WD came out on top. They were judging on design and development.

Now that is not to say there is nothing good about the GT-R except for the RB26DETT, well depending on who you talk to. As you know the RB26DETT is a engine whore, owners will make the RB26 fit into anything :D. Some wierd engine conversions I have seen here. Bluebird RB26DETT 4WD...scarry.

As I always say you should always buy the car you like and whatever the purpose, I have an Evo because I wanted the space and practicality for outdoors like loading up for the snow field. Others may want a car to cruise, drag, circuit etc.
