What do you mean fake?

I've bought 2 Koyos in the last 2 years for two cars and they are fine.

They look identical to the OEM Nissan ones just without the NISSAN Logo.

You may have bought a GTS one for an automatic which I believe is different.

Paid $275.00 each for them each .......

New ones are ridiculous - https://www.amayama.com/en/part/nissan/2141004u01

wow that's $1071. aus

No, I did get the manual one it is identical but the thing came in a "koyorad Radiator box which had been opened previously"

then sticky taped up for me.

It says it's made in Indonesia?

Has a "adrad" branded sticker on the box?

I was also of the opinion that these are still made in Japan or is that incorrect?

And I thought there would be a little "koyorad" impression on the radiator somewhere, bit like the aluminium ones do on the top of the tank where the filler is.

I'll take a photo of it a bit later

Have you tried it? There are no Koyorad logos from memory.

Natrad is the retailer....... http://www.natrad.com.au/?gclid=CNaum6u7tskCFQwlvQod05AEzw

I think Indonesia sounds right. Especially at the price I paid.

Try it, it may fit and be correct.

no haven't tried it yet, it is identical & it will be fine it's just the way I received it in the box that was leading me to suggest shenanigans had taken place at my expense.

Cheers guys

Koyorad had factories in Japan, China and Indonesia.

From their website : http://www.koyorad.com/faq.asp

Where are Koyorad radiators manufactured?
Koyo manufactures four different types of radiators:

  1. OE Aftermarket Plastic Tanks/Aluminum Cores (most common)
    Design: Japan and China
    Manufacturing: Indonesia and China
  2. OE Aftermarket All Aluminum (Toyota Sienna, Lexus RX, etc)
    Design: Japan
    Manufactured: Indonesia or China
  3. OE Aftermarket Copper / Brass (select vehicles)
    Design: Japan
    Manufacturing: Indonesia
  4. Racing All Aluminum Radiators (select performance vehicles)
    Design: Japan and Indonesia
    Manufacturing: Japan and Indonesia

Koyo’s R&D departments complete engineering diagrams for each new application. These engineering drawings are then sent to our privately owned ISO-9001 certified factories. Each Koyo radiator is leak tested a total of three times at different stages of the production process before a final visual inspection. Our attention to detail extends further to our rigid boxes, inlet/outlet/corner protection, assuring Koyorad product arrives safely to the end user. Additionally, Koyo conducts “Koyo Training Exchange” programs between our Japan, Indonesia, and China plants from 3 months to a year in the study of Japanese workmanship. This program further ensures the delivery of exceptional Japanese quality to the end user.

    • Yeah the issue here is that we have a lot of topics, unless we matched on the exact word & phrase we'd get a million topics and the one you want will not likely be in the top 20 or so.
    • Yeah great idea, I have already added R32 Wiring Diagram but we can add as many as we want. 100% ! This has been something I've wanted to do for a while. I thought we could have a way for people to 'suggest' a link be added to the library when they come across something good.  We could kick this along by allowing members (maybe a subset) to tag threads they find to allow us to more easily find/locate/use good content, ie a tag 'for-library' which can then be added to the library and maybe have the tags reviewed and updated to better match the content. This would make it easier then to find the content when not using the library. We can also create pages that have lists of content with specific tags. That would allow us to add a tag and then have it automatically added to a page. We could have a page just for the 'for-library' content that we could then moderate and put wherever.  This excites me, the lack of structure with the amount of content is a little overwhelming.
    • Of course you can. That was a waste. Straight down one oil drain gallery and out the sump hole. Could at least have run the engine a little (obviously with at least minimum oil level on the stick).
    • Oh really? Maybe I'm being silly. I'll get some more shots. I had it higher but found that it went too high after a drive, I never knew this but exhausts can move around a bit when hot (makes sense, just never knew) and when it was higher it would make nice cooking plastic smells. That said, I could put some heat tape on a'la 90's R33 exhausts     Ha, I've spent a lot of my life in castle hill waiting for cars to be done. I think I'd prefer something closer but thanks D.
    • @Duncan Yes, changed filter every time. I don't have the service manual for the car yet (Car was imported and they removed everything when importing). I've been using the oil change threads in the forum as reference.   @Milkmun The second oil change was after ~4 months after the first months and I wasn't sure about reusing engine oil that was opened. The third oil change happened within 3 weeks of the second oil change and I used the previous leftover oil to just "clean up" the system. (Poured it through while the sump plug was open")
