Thanks Nick.

KV36 front pads are different from 370z as i been through that. Best option take a sample with ya.

$79 sounds a good price if they fit as when i needed some i couldnt find them anywhere, even nissan said 6weeks wait, the only place that had them was for $150 :/

Thanks ASM.

My friend who usually services my car said he could get front pair for $171 but told me to shop around to see whether i could get them cheaper. Not sure whether they were OEM or what brand. Guess i ll just ask him to get it so i wont have any issues in case if they dont fit, he could get them changed...

Btw ASM, off topic, i saw you sold your air intake. How was it when you had it on? any noticeable power or sound improvements? researched on g37 and Takeda LTCAI seems to the one to get or Rc2 but then its a short ram intake. Would cost close to 1k with shipping and conversion though.. :(

Personally i think it was both power and sound gains but i reckon sound more than power :)

For the Sport version as well? I can understand if it's the non-sport but when I look at my copy of the EBC catalogue, it seems to suggest that it's the same pad for both the G37S and the 370Z (14" brake rotor size), whereas the non-sport version has a 13" brake rotor size.

For what it's worth, I use the EBC RedStuff DP31823C in the front and DP31824C in the rear. Shortly I'm going to be replacing my OEM discs though as I noticed yesterday on the freeway that they've warped somewhat.

The DP31823C and DP31824C are for the Akebonos yes?

Need to get a set soon, been procrastinating. Still debating to get green or red.

Sport Akebono brakes use the same pads on both Z and V series but non-sport seems to be different for the front brakes.

370GT/G37 sedan have the brakes which are dual piston with 320mm discs. These are the same as the 370Z Touring, which was not sold in AUS.. Older 350GT sedans could have "sports" brakes which are a bigger 330mm disc, but only a single piston caliper..

I am also under the impression that these brakes are not unique to the V36, but might be used on other Nissans such as the Pathfinder and V6 Altima... Similar with my M35 Stagea which ran same brakes as 350Z touring, which is the same as an XTRAIL...

Akebono's were not standard on any V36 Skyline sedans, but they were on some of the G37 Sports...

Hence the total confusion...

The pads from GSL will fit and if for some reason they didn't cannot see why they would have an issue swapping them...

Correct. No idea if the 2009 SPs ever came out with Brembo calipers but mine are definitely Akebono.

Honestly, like I've said before, I use red because I'm an arsehole of a driver (not a late braker though)! Lately this year, with more cops around, I'm seeing myself driving at less nutty speeds, so the greens might be the reasonable answer again.

Oh, so even the SP sedans use the same smaller brakes?

Yup, but the Akebono's are a straight swap, as long as the wheels can still clear the front calipers...

And you'll need to trim some dust shields.

Pretty sure the 370z were all Akebono but seems like DBA and etc are saying Brembo. Who knows. My set I have on my car came off a 370z, looks Akebono to me.

That's what threw me too but I figure Nissan have a better idea than they do. The measurements are the same, I've checked that, so it's all good as far as I'm concerned.

Okay got the fronts ordered, was told no need to upgrade the rears, just for the sake of fitting slotted dicss on a street car..

So DBA2308S | DBA Street Series T2 Slotted Brake Rotor

and DB1696HPX - QFM HPX Brake Pads

on their way from Queensland, with no additional cost for shipping...

Price was so good, even ordered some Dot4 fluid...

Maybe but for a road only car they felt that the T2's were a better option value wise...

They did ask a lot of questions about what I was going to use the car for, and like I said they talked me out of ordering T2 discs and upgraded pads for the rear... So quite honest I thought.

I think that's where I have a difference of opinion with them. In upgrading the fronts only, I believe you're messing with the balance of the vehicle's braking system. But then again, if you don't drive like a maniac, then perhaps it will be sufficient.

Keep us posted... I'm getting some brake shudder in my 370GT so I'm tempted to get some new rotors considering how much some places want to charge for machining....
