Malek41
hey guys Ill start this off with the day i bought my r32 gtst type m manual with 147xxx km it was fairly stock just had with pod, cooler and exhaust Here are some pics of when i bought it Drove it around for abit as it is till i came across a front end conversion off a gtr. Couldnt argue with the price so i grabbed straight them away. Ordered some rear over fenders and got straight to business. decided to change the colour and go ahead with gunmetal grey with a slight pearl. unfortunately i dont have photos of when the transformation was underway. Here are the results of the conversion and paint Was happy with the result. Came out really good but the only thing that fussed me was the engine bay colour but ill just do it later down the track. Sold the buddy clubs and picked up lmgt2. They were just temporary wheels till i found something wider. I picked up some gen bride seats off gumtree that came outta of a silvia, they were in decent condition just with some fade. Got some rails swapped over for my skyline. the car already had bride roof lining, door cards, glove box etc. Its a bit of an over kill but i dont mind it. 2 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/461647-maleks-r32-gtstgtr-widebody-project/ Share on other sites
Malek41
I sold the lmgts after 3 months and ordered brand new Work emotion xd9 18x10+18. Was abit scared with the specs but they fit perfect. 4 months down the track the motor started knocking haha. So was a good excuse to do a 25 swap. So we went straight to business and started with removing the motor the day after. First motor pulling out in a garage and was a piece of cake. Came out in a couple of hours with the help of my dad and mate. I had the chance to clean the bay up and give it a respray. So got it prepped and painted the following week. Came out pretty good for a garage job. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/461647-maleks-r32-gtstgtr-widebody-project/#findComment-7653138 Share on other sites
Malek41
so this is where the fun part begins 2 months later with the car collecting dust i went out and picked up a rb25det series 2 and rb25det gearbox. Motor came out of a auto 33 and was a healthy one. Plans were to throw on a gtx3076r, splitfires, 850cc injectors, upgraded 040 fuel pump, bigger front mount, microtech lt12s, Greddy boost controller and a couple other bits. hoping to crack 300kw on a unopened motor. its been done before so im praying I got my hands on all the parts needed 2 weeks after buying the motor. Some pics... Only went internally gated as im trying to not get as much attention from the cops as im still driving on my ps so ill change the rear housing and go external as soon as im on my fulls Plans are is to keep the motor appearance stock as possible so it will be a mission. Recently ordered some parts such as a turbo spacer as the gtx hits the manifold and lines to suit turbo etc. Motor hopefully should be dropped in sometime this week depending on what parts arrive. 3 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/461647-maleks-r32-gtstgtr-widebody-project/#findComment-7653140 Share on other sites

Malek41
ok abit of a update, motor was all ready to be dropped in. Mounted up the gearbox to the motor and dropped it in. Was pretty easy with the help of a couple mates, didnt have any issues, got the gearbox mounted with the custom tailshaft aswell. started with plumbing in all the lines and doing on all the little stuff that needed to be done i sent over my wiring loom to get custom made to suit the 32 shell. While the loom was gone i started on the cooler piping, i wanted to keep the return flow look so i order a 180deg bend hose and made custom piping. Also had to relocate the power steering tank as the pod filter was hitting it, so found a neat spot near the radiator which i reckon is cleaner. Also hid some wiring on the passenger side for a clean look I had an issue with the turbo facing downwards and the hose was hitting the K frame and had a massive kink in it, so i removed the turbo off and rotated it to the top which is what i should have done from the start. (Made life so much easier) Couple days later my loom came back and plugged it all in and had a issue with starting, was getting fuel, spark.. everything but just didnt want to turn over, we suspected that it would be the ecu but till the day after we found out there was no ground from the black to chassis to battery, got that sorted out and it fired up straight away. Its miss firing at the moment but im thinking its most likely the spark plugs need to be gapped to .8 or my injectors as i still have to order my xspurt 1000cc Ive decided to go on e85 so i placed a order on a new walrbo 460lph fuel pump and just waiting on the injectors to come in stock. Malek41
OK UPDATE TIME 4 months ago when i went to put my injectors in ended up in removing the standard plenum off, coolant then leaked into the air chambers where the valve stems are, didnt notice and put everything back together and it started spitting coolant, seals went and yeah it was a silly mistake which ive learned about. Now i have moved on and picked up a new long motor, sold the microtech and ive moved onto a power fc, and everything is bolted up and running... kinda, running about rough due to injectors but my 32 will be sent over to a workshop near my area to do some work for me. That will consist off 45mm turbosmart external wastegate welded onto the rear housing/ screamer pipe Fuel pump relay Full check over and basic base tune for me to drive to tuners here are some photos over the past couple of months Will be posting more updates on this build, so stay tuned Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/461647-maleks-r32-gtstgtr-widebody-project/#findComment-7760049 Share on other sites
Malek41
Bit of An update Took my r32 down to the workshop to get things done finally. Turned out that my turbo needed to be rebuilt so we sent that off and got that done. It was a one day turn around so was pretty stocked with that. Stayed at the workshop for about 1 week, in that time external wastegate got welded on with screamer, got vent weleded on to catch can and few other bits. They got the car running on e85 just on a base tune so I can drive it to the tuners. Dyno tune day came Headed straight down to untied to fill up some e85 and headed straight down to All sparks performance to get tuned. Got it loaded up straight away and away frank from all sparks started doing his magic. Frank knew that the motor was unopened so he wanted to keep the tune safe, till I upgraded the headstuds and headgasket. a couple laters on and couldn't be any happier with the result. 287kw on 20 psi. We hit 300kw but dropped it down just to be safe. 1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/461647-maleks-r32-gtstgtr-widebody-project/#findComment-7782231 Share on other sites
Malek41
After a week of having it back on the road, decided to go on a nice drive to the beach cause the weather is so good, parked it up and went for a walk to come back and see someone had side swapped the rear guard ?? no note no witness no nothing Lucklily I had insurance but really shitted me as knowing the car has to be off the road again. I made the claim through and now it's at the panel beaters getting sprayed. Doing a full resprayed again cause I've wanted to change the colour slightly As they were stripping the car you could see how patchy the previous paint job was showing old paint and just was really bad. Theee guys aren't taking any shortcuts here as you'll see in the pics Still deciding on the colour Im deciding on wether I should paint it in original kh2 gtr gunmetal grey or custom galaxy grey. have 2 pics of what the colours are so feel free to let me know what you think. 1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/461647-maleks-r32-gtstgtr-widebody-project/#findComment-7782495 Share on other sites

Malek41
Another update the 32 got painted a couple days ago. Came out really good as you can see in the pics. whats left now is to get the other bits sprayed and should be all done windows got put back in with a new front window and new seals all round. interior is all back in now just minus the door trims and a couple other bits which should all be done by the end of the week im going to place an order on some new bc br coilovers as i think my shocks are blown on the coils and throw them in, and also placed an order on a decat so we should be seeing some flames now with the e85 Cant wait haha enjoy the photos 5 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/461647-maleks-r32-gtstgtr-widebody-project/#findComment-7792862 Share on other sites

Malek41
The past week I've been giving the guys and hand with getting shit done to the car. It's almost complete with only a few parts left to be painted. I placed a order on coilovers yesterday and should be in by a week or so. Registration renewal came in even though I didn't drive it the whole year and got that paid and out of the way. Im hoping to give it a couple more weeks till it's 100% completed and planning on going to Calder park raceway to crack some numbers. Fingers crossed I'm hoping for a high 11. It will be my first time at the track so I doubt I'll get it that day haha. Here are some pics car is dusty in the pics 2 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/461647-maleks-r32-gtstgtr-widebody-project/#findComment-7794923 Share on other sites
