Most try and tell me its gutless and fit an RB25/26/30.

Dont you hate that....well i do :)

A nice turbo setup on an RB20 works great, already have 8.5:1 compression and spin nicely to good rpm.

Problem is when its time for a new engine, do you just throw another stocker in and drive it into the ground or do you build an engine up...if you are building an engine i can see the sense of going bigger...but not if the engine is healthy. :)

How does the GTS4 driveline work, is it rear drive like a GTR until you light up the rears or does it normally have a % of torque to the fronts...never been in a GTS4

I thought I'd join the conversation too as I have a 32 gts4 as well :)

Roy the front only engages when the rear loses traction, such as when you launch :D

I've done a 13.7 so far with a FMIC, stock turbo and 3" exhaust (manual also), but I'm looking for a TO4E turbo kit to fit to the car in the hope of getting a 12 one day!

TurboX i had the same problem as you .. I was at the drags and I blew the headgasket. Pulled the head off and found that the number 6 cylinder had corroded through the water line and ruined it :)

Its exactly like a r32 gtr, only when the rears are slipping does the torque get transfered to the front.

I might add that my worst understeer happens in the wet at low speed, in the dry its not so bad but only cause you have to push it alot harder to lose traction!

Firstly i appreciate all the ppl that say "GTS4 understeer" have probably never driven one, but if its pretty much RWD is the slight front end push a result of the extra weight up front?

So is the gasket thing simple an age thing, or are these new head gaskets that have failed after aonly 1yr ?!?!?!

Interesting that your head gasket problem sounds exactly the same problem as mine. I wonder if this is more common than we think? I have a feeling that the water had seeped in behind the metal sealing ring and was sitting there for a while as it was slighlty corroded, but not on the ring sealing surface, just as well.

I am going to just put the new one on and fill the corroded bit with hylomar so hope it will be OK as the metal sealing ring block surface is OK.

I am tending to think that it went because I cranked the boost up a bit and slightly advanced the timing on my fourth run trying to crack 13's ( - Did everything you should NOT do at the drags! ) I probably detonated it through the already corroded metal ring.

As mentioned , same as GTR. Interesting thing if one of your tyres goes down a bit you can always tell because the AWD starts to be on all the time at a low %.

If you get new Wheels/Tyres you have to maintain the same rolling dia to make sure its not on all the time as well as I found out after purchasing some new back tyres. Thought I would go a bit larger and had to swap them straight off again.

I actually have another two NA RB20DE's I bought for spares from EKW for $200 each complete (no G/Box) :) Both seem perfect with all access.

I am not sure on the exact differences in the Block but I do know that the combustion chambers are double? the volume by looking at them in the head.

I was nearly going to do up the NA head until I realised just in time before they started work after cleaning it up.

Anyone out there know if the NA block is same as Turbo block???

Could always do a 2.4 with the RB26 Crank I guess.

hehe, just like in HPI with tomei pistons and gtr rods, Don't forget the trust IHI old turbo kit with ex gate. i reckon its cool that the trust kit still uses the original manifold - saves buying a new one

Forget the IHI buy my TD06, it goes well on an RB20 so on an RB24 it would be great. End shameless self serving plug

I want to do the whole RB24 thing, only prob is pistons are more expensive then 86/87 mm ones, and the bloke who i hassle for parts keeps remiding me its more expensive then following the flock, and as coin is something i hate spending ill have to come accross some cheap HKS/Tomie RB24 pistons pretty quickly if im going to do one.

I would have thought the NA combustions chambers were the same size or smaller due to increase compression???? Dont know though.

Sorry Roy, my post on this item was a bit ambiguos - the NA Head has much smaller volume chambers than the Turbo Head. As you say, for higher comp. ratio.

Unfortunately the NA cams are the same as the Turbo - Bummer! I really did think they would have more Lift/Duration but apparently not. I was looking forward to more duration at least :D
