Hey SAU first post here :)

Just want some advice as dont know a huge amount about skylines. I just went for a drive in my r33 gtst and just had a quick loss of power almost like a complete cutout of the motor for a second. Im running standard boost and car is completly original besides a K&N pod filter. Currently it is extremely hot here in SA probably around 44degress outside so not sure if it has anything to do with it cause it was doing it at higher revs when i put my foot for a second. A friend told me about heat soak or something on hotter days. Could it be doing R&R or was risking detonation cause of the hot day so ecu was protecting the motor lol. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. The car only did it once just then and hasnt done it since.

Thanks SAU

I had to drive on Hume Highway in 2012 on the day of the big bushfires..........48'C. I couldn't go over about 85km/h. Oil and exhaust temps would just soar into the danger zone if I did. Actually had a Highway Patrol car follow me for 30km waiting for me to do something wrong and just as I came into Holbrook - and it was two way traffic - a 4wd going north caught his interest so it was lights on and a quick U turn and he was gone. My aircon actually stopped working it got that hot!!!

So I'm with Kinks, poor Skyline being boosted on a 44'C day!!! Remember your Skyline is an old car 10-20 years old in fact. Have a look around you and see what other 15 year old cars look like - most are ready for the tip!!!
