Tonight I was using my iphone with a speedometer app to see if my car speedo read the same... its WAY off assuming the iphone GPS is accurate; like ~67 on the speedo is about ~60 on the GPS.

Anyone ever tested this?

How accurate is an iphone GPS?! I dunno which to trust lol

Gave up on car speedo's years ago... 4 fines in 1 week in a Volvo, real one XC90 not my Stagea, that had an under reading speedo was a big lesson for heavy footed driver in the family..

Now rely on Mr Garmin and Mr TomTom... :rofl2:

All new cars are 5 -10 out mate. Manufactures do this to prevent their customers receiving speed fines..

....and if your in Adelaide you can experience every one doing 55kms in the overtaking/right hand lane!!!!!

As of Jan 2006, so ten years today!!, all speedos must read within 10% of true road speed, and must not under read... That last bit was the new part of the rule..Before then it was 10% either way.. 2005 compliance Volvo made me find these rules out...
