Hi guys just though id post up 2 oil pans that ive been working on. One was a complete failure it couldnt even fit in our r33 skyline. But the other one fits perfectly. Only the trap doors and extended oil pick up has to be made and i can close it up. Note i suck at welding so this was a first for me.

Please let me know what you guys think. I have some race fab oil pans for my rb26 and i was planning on buy one for my rb25 but takes to long to reach and i just wanted to give it a try. Oil pan on the right is a disaster. I suspect that the good creation on the left will hold 8 to 9 quarts of oil. In addition to the oil pan like i have poated before we made a custome oil drian that we made to flow the extra oil from the rear of the head. All were made from stainless steel. Sorry but i dont have photos of the drain with the number 10 fittings welded to it. I just have photos of the mod and the box we made. Oh we make these boxes to catch a large amount of oil and use the weight of the collecting oil to force itself back to the oil pan. From what we have tried this works the best keeping in mind we alsovent the block for breathing. We also return from both sides of the block from this box. From my personal experiments the rb25 has a way bigger oil blowing out issue than a rb26. I feel its because of the 3 oil entries to the head even if its restricted. So here goes

Finally finished the oil pan, tested for leaks and juat have to pain it now. It holds 9.5 quarts of oil. After i was finished i only found 3 very small leaks not to bad for a first time welder:D

I also extended the oil pickup. If you look closely to one of the photos its a perfect fit. Center and to the very bottom of the oil pan. I was very happy how it came out.

Thats all i had. Wasn't a problem really to weld mate. And yes stainless to mild. Though it would have been a problem at first. But my test pan that came out like crap was fine strength wise. Practice a bit and got it. This oil pan literally cost me about 100 usd to make. I found the stainless steel on the side of the road believe it or not. :D
