M35 Hicas Reservoir Overfilled

Yesterday i was going over all of my fluids in my 2001 M35 and I checked the HICAS reservoir for the first time since owning it and it seems like the previous owner filled it to the brim and simply ignoring the max level line.

What kind of damage can this cause running it like this as I have only just noticed it after 4 months of owning it

Should be no damage - just possibility of overflow and spilling. You could let some out via the bleed nipple or suck some out with a tube. Does your car have Hicas or is it the Atessa reservoir?

As kiwi said; no risk of damage.

Just syringe out the excess until the fill level is correct.
