Pretty happy. had chronic brake fade for the afternoon race and tyres started to go off after a few hard laps, but all in all had a great time. Man I love Oran Park GP. :)

Guys thought I'd better drop past and say g'day

Firstly well done to Russell and Mark, I've been forever telling people a well setup GTR is a competitive car for these Dutton Rally's. Taking nothing from your driving lads of course, outstanding!

For the record I think we nudged the 1.06's at wakefield on the dutton, can't tell you how many laps Marty has done around there in the car, heaps!

Eastern Creek I believe I gave a 1.45 a decent nudge, I'm quite familiar with the creek coming fresh off a weekend in the Aussie Racer.

VICTORIA!!! I can't wait, competition should be plentiful! It will be good to catch you guys I met last year, a little better luck I hope also.

Good luck with the car Russell and Mark, It would be good to catch up again.

Cheers

Hey Simmo - why don't you jump in one of the Mopro Lotus's for Dutton Vic and leave that silly EVO at home??? It seems you need the practise in driving them. (BTW - well done with all the drives this year! Insanely jealous!)

So is the EVO still stock except for a chip, exhaust and some handling mods? LOL.

I'm hoping to get through all 3 days this time. And the car is a lot more sorted than it was 12 months ago, and I can steer a little better now I hope. So hopefully we'll get a little closer to you this time. But I still think you should bring the Lotus!

Hi guys. Yesterday I competed in Round 5 of the NSW Supersprint Chps on the Short Circuit at Oran Park. I only did 9 laps and had a fastest time of 50.86. Car was running fantastic since i got a new turbo from Brett at GCG. Stupidly I didn't replace the Heat Shields off the manifold and the turbo and started melting piping. I'm certain that with a bit more familiarsation of both OP and the car I coul'd have gotten into the 48s.

OK it's not a Skyline but I've spent plenty of time on here and I'm a bit sick of all the garbage that goes on at certain Subaru forums so why not?

Gag on my shaft Fatz! :)

I found the Wakefield results. For some reason they were posted under 2006!?!Wakefield Supersprint June 2005 I'm #8 in SVD class.

The rubber on the latest STis are still a road compound but they have got an aggressive outer tread pattern that stops them feathering and going off as quickly as most street tyres. They are comparable to Falken RT215s, but a little better in the wet.

To be honest there's still a bit of time left in my current setup. I was dealing with brake fade (fluid boil) most of the day.

Camma S15, refresh my memory, what mods are you running.

Also Gonad Man, goes to show how good late model STIs are running those sorts of times on everyday road rubber

S15 (Obviously)

APEXi Front Mount, AVC-R, Exhaust, partitioned filter, lowered springs, RE540's, DS2500's.

Standard shocks, wheels, sway bars, brakes etc.

Nothing special.

Great Thread...

Winton:

Reference Lap Time:

- 1:50.84, APCC Honda S2000 (Aus. Prod. Car Championship)

Just a small correction guys. That 1:50.84 time for the S2000 is not correct. Well, it may be a correct time, but it's certainly not it's best lap time there. As far as the best time goes, it was 1:41.49 ... here's the record of it:

http://www.procar.com.au/results/APCC_Wint...ton_R2_2004.htm

ps. That time is about 1sec quicker then what a 100% stock S2000 with just RE540s has managed there by one of the HSCC members. On road tyres and in 100% stock cars the quick guys in the club were in 1:44s.

    • Just something I found searching for more info on Emotion R, apparently the ECR33 Skyline GTS25t was either originally black, or there were two of them, the black one being the original demo car, then building a white one which was part of the 1997-onwards (to at least 2008!)
