Hey there Brisby. FYI, you're one funny dude to be around. You cracked me up on the weekend.

Should I include a time I got in Franks car? If so, 1.31.1 around Winton in an R33GTR...

New Phillip Island time, 1:44.8

Oran Park time, 1:20.4

And, coolest of all, Nurgburgring, Nordschleife in a Golf GTI, 8:52....

We need to do a boys trip mate. How much fun would it be to have a few of us on there together!

[ferris bueller voice on] OOOOHHHHHH YEEEAAAHHHHHH [/ferris bueller voice off]

Definitely interested.

When is the best time of year (when it's not raining obviously) - I've put some sock money away as I can't drive a 997 GT3 for my 40th this year like I planned god dammit.

Doing this is one of those things on my "do it before I kark it" list.

Obviously summer is the best conditions BUT the track is apparently really packed at that time of the year (June/July). I reckon sometime around early May would be a good comprimise but I'd happily work with whenever. It'd struggle to be any worse than the conditions I had last time and I survived that.

Although around Xmas is obviously out as it will probably be covered in snow.

Hey everyone

i will have the lap times updated in the next few days so keep your eyes peeled on the first pages again.

If you have a time that qualifies please PM or post up the details and i will make sure i update them regularly :)

Cheers Ben

Haha it wasn't in the traffic on the fun day. That time was on the sprints on sunday. 12 on the track at a time.

Dane. You'll be back soon I hear so you'll be knocking me off soon! I really love the track and I'm sure there is still some time in it with my current setup. Can't wait to go back with a warmer track. It was freezing all day.

Marlin, what times does your mates E30 M3 lap Nordschleife in?

Sorry i missed your post earlier mate. I sent an email asking him and here's what came back;

"The car is not set up properly yet. When i bought the car, it had terrible suspension, with standard brakes and road tyres. I have done about 35 laps in the car in 2 days with that setup to get the feel of it, but on the last weekend (3 weeks ago), the oil pump packed up about 2/3 the way through the 3rd lap. I managed to save it without seizing it, so hopefully won't be too much to fix. Rebuild obviously, but hopefully rods and crank are ok. With that setup, the car would lap the Ring in about 9:20 mins or so on a clear run (never timed it though).

I now have Bilstein Group N suspension, AP Racing big brake kit, new rims and Kumho V700's ordered for it, plus going to fit a cage too as I'm at it. The car should be ready for the season next year, as I'm gonna be away anyway, there's no rush. I reckon the car will be good for about 8:20 ish for a full lap when finished, possibly quicker with a lot more experience on that track. You're gonna have to come over at some stage to see it, and drive it yourself. You'll love it!!"
