Help With Oil Cooler Install Location - R33gts-t

Hi,

Need some advice please on oil cooler install for r33gts-t. I went and bought a Trust kit, but in the instructions it says to mount it in front of the radiator. Most guys on here mount their oil coolers in the drivers side wheel arch so I tried to do that.

Compared to a few pics on here i saw, i think my oil cooler might be a bit wider and longer than most ? Anyway, I thought i had a good spot mounted but then had problems with the clearance at the top for the hoses to connect to. My kit came with 45's, I could go and get them changed for 90's but I am still not sure if i would have enough clearance ?

I quite like the current location, if i drop the oil cooler lower or back close to the tyre, it is going to hit/rub against the bottom of front spoiler and that metal hook underneath the car ? At the moment I have about a finger width between the cooler and hook.... Also with the bottom bracket, I couldn't drill through the bracket so I had to chuck in a couple of nuts

Suggestions / advice please ?

I recommend using 105 or even more aggressive angle fittings, similar to this:

However you did the install it's vital to stop the hoses from rubbing.

Those braided hoses will chafe through anything.

I used spiral wrap on the hoses where they touch anything. As jiffo said s/s braid will wear through everything over time if you don't route or wrap.
