Hey guys,

just got a nistune for my r34 gt-t pretty bummed about the dyno results. i havent got the sheet yet but spoke to the tuners, ill post the sheets when i can.

rb25 neo det

Hi-flowed turbo - stage 2 from mta gold coast

3" exhaust from turbo back

840cc denso injectors

z32 afm

walbro 255

blitz se return flow intercooler

spitfire coil packs

gfb respons BOV

Greddy OLED ebc

car got 290hp at 14 psi, apparently the car was still pushing but the waste gate was opening at 14psi and wouldnt' let it go any further.

Just kind of bummed out after readying other guys getting around 220kw - 240kw with roughly same mods.

next step is to get an HKS 14psi actuator and run more boost, when I've got more money haha.

ill post some sheets when I get them tomorrow, but for now what do you guys think?

hahah yeah I know, I need to take it for a drive. Apparently the power curve is wicked and it can keep climbing once I've got a new actuator, I guess the end goal is to run around 18-19psi eventually. an HKS heavy duty actuator should fix it.

So it made 216 kW, which is 4kw short of what you were hoping for, and you still haven't actually driven the car?

You actually have nothing to be upset about yet

That power on a turbo of dubious "highflowness" and on 14 psi is not disappointing at all. It's only 14 psi!

These ^^

Do you mean the EBC wouldn't let you run any more boost? Or the wastegate actuator itself?

the wastegate itself opens at like 14 the ebc can hold way more. I thought the job of the ebc was to stop the wastegate seeing its max till youve reached the amount of boost you want?

A boost controller can bleed off some of the signal that the actuator sees, allowing you to increase boost above what the actuator is natively sprung for.

BUT......

There are limits. You can't use a bleeder to boost a 5psi actuator up to some much much higher setting like 15 psi (for example and using made up numbers). You can't usually go much higher than about double the native setting of the actuator. Having said that, I have a 5 psi actuator on a Neo turbo that is bled up to 11 or 12 psi.....so you certainly can go more than double. The question is just how much more. Anyway, the reason for not being able to arbitrarily wind up the boost is that the boost controller can't bleed off enough boost to raise it infinitely AND retain ability to control it with good response. On top of that, the exhaust manifold pressure will push the wastegate flap open against the weak spring of a low pressure actuator no matter whether the boost signal is completely disconnected or not!

So in your case, without us knowing what pressure actuator you have, it could be either or both of a couple of causes.
