Hey guys,

just bought an R33 GTSt the other day, had a exedy tuff clutch fitted around 6 months ago with receipts etc. Car has been driving fine the last couple of days however today after driving it in hot weather for about 30 minutes the clutch slipped under load. I let the car sit for about an hour and took it for a drive and again the clutch gripped as it should. However after another 15 minutes of driving it slipped again. Guess i'm up for another clutch? I know a slipping clutch is because the clutch is stuffed but why would it only be slipping in heat? I'm thinking the heat may be getting to the rear main seal and causing it to weep when its hot.

Ok, turns out the rod behind the pedal was adjusted all the way out causing the clutch to be slightly engaged when the oil got hot enough to expand. I backed it off a thread and a half and it doesn't slip at all anymore.

Sounds right, a exedy shouldn't slip that quickly unless it had a main seal leak, was not installed correctly or was abused with slip.

We had a HD one in our GTR (didnt know was in there till i pulled the engine out), lots of 4wd launches and abuse, when we looked at it. it still had 80% material left on it, never slipped, felt like a stockey was in there.
