Hello,

Recently bought an Auto 2004 350GT skyline and have found a niggling noise a week after purchase.

This car was used as a commuter car everyday prior to my ownership, so Im hoping its just general wear and tear.

The sound comes from the back end and makes a noise similar to if a heavy person sat in a rickety chair, only less wooden and more metallic sounding.

It does NOT make the sound when moving, only when making the shift of gear from Park to Drive, and from Drive to Reverse etc.

I specifically did not want to buy an Auto for this reason, because I have always owned and driven Manuals and do not have enough knowledge of the Auto gearbox, however the compromise with the missus was that I could only own a Skyline of she could drive it. Admittedly this was the only type of car I would buy as an auto, despite my pining for the same car in manual.

Oh I forgot my question was, does anyone have 1st hand experience with any good mechanics for this model car, in the Wollongong area. I am prepared to take it to Sydney if that would be more appropriate.

Thank you for reading my essay!

Regards

Yeh its like im sitting in a chair that im too fat for, which only appears at low speed load. Forgive my Noobness but what is a TSB?

Technical Service Bulletin, I'm not sure what they call them in Aus/NZ but they're essentially a factory notice of a mistake or problem and the procedure to fix the issue if a car comes in with those symptoms for warranty/service
