Hey guys new to the forum and to forced induction cars.

Heres the problem as of yesterday i am back to driving na as turbo not spooling. No noise is coming from turbo at all.

Before you say take it to a mechanic, No

I work 6am-6pm 7days a week. Lol plus i would like to learn

Anyways could it be a vaccum hose, leak in intercooler or turbo inlet hose ?

Any ideas ? What do i look for?

I have no ideas where the vaccum hoses go from/to

Where are the 2 pipes supposed to go that come from the boost solenoid

Thanks for listening to my long winded speel.

Some help would be great

A popped vacuum hose won't loose all boost

A popped cooler pipe will.

A popped cooler pipe it won't drive at all.... Sounds like it's still running and driving, just nothing from the turbo?

Is it a stock turbo? What boost?

My money is on an exited turbine wheel too.

They'll run without boost pipework but the mixtures are way wrong, will be very rich.

AFM is sending flow info to the ecu which is way out of whack with what the engine's actually eating.

The more boot you give it the worse it becomes.

Time for a call to Stao.

R32 GTR runs without the IC pipe like an NA (Maf less). Quite fine

R34 GTT runs like an NA (slightly worse) with the Turbo rooted. No boosting..

R32 GTSt runs like shit with IC pipe popped off.

likely a high flow is your best option

When my 32R popped an intercooler hose, the car ran but ran really shit. Still sort of driveable.

When my GTS-t dropped a turbine wheel (turbo exhaust wheel), the engine ran fine but no boost, so was slow and running super rich.

Indeed.

And as above, popped cooler hose = car wont drive.

So if it's driving, logical to deduce that turbo has failed

Not true at all. Every car is different and depends on each situation, when they pop the silicone may force everything back into close to the position it should be, other times or won't. My car still drove fine on light load with popped cooler pipe. Enough to get me the few km home no worries.

Hey guys,

stagea - s2 rb25det

just done head gasket and timing kit etc

car has high flow turbo, fmic, bleed valve and exhaust and nistuned

Car back up and running fine but NO BOOST at all - as in it drives n/a fine boost gauge comes up to the 0 but not even 1psi of boost...

ideas?

Pulled the circlip off this morning and the flap opens and closes no issues.

With the circlip back on I am able to move the full arm and flap with pliers -

took intake pipe off and turbo spins freely by hand -

Is that with the heatshield on or off? I've seen the stock heatshield lay up against the actuator rod and stop it moving fore-aft.

Has not made boost since start up - I put the turbo on all fine drove off no boost - no bang!

Ive had a rear wheel blow off one of my skylines I know the sound and fedl

    • They see me rollin' they hatin'....... Took me most of the day to make the necessary mods to the mounts to make them fit the car.  Fortunately I was able to just use the mounts that came with the rotisserie. The rear ones are really secure, the front I feel i might reinforce a bit more as it doesn't seem like enough attachment to the vehicle. I'm sure it's fine but better to be safe than (extremely...) sorry.  I drilled and tapped thread into additional M12 holes to each car mount where it attaches to the rotisserie as an extra fail-safe. Without them the side to side movement is just restricted by the allen head pinch bolts, nothing actually goes though the beam. Does now! I still need to adjust the rotisserie to get the car centred in terms of centre of gravity. If it's too high or too low relative to the rotational centre line of the car, it will be like a turtle and roll onto its back or as it currently sits, I dont think I'd be able to rotate it as it sits as it needs to lift the whole car up as it rotates. Ain't happening... I'm going to be nervous as hell the first time I go to spin it on its side...
    • Oh yes done this when the window started flopping around.  Turns out the guides that run along the rail chanel had crumbed way. Took off the door card and pulled out the window mech, then the window, which you have to pull out through the top. As said unbolt the guide rail and don't spend 30 minutes getting frustrated trying to find a way to slide it out upwards cause that don't frigging work. Drop it down and out through the door hole. All I did to repair it was slice some 10mm clear plastic tube, vertically, then screw it to the guide rail both sides. This tubing rolls inward on both sides and leaves a gap wide enough to hold the window. To finish all I did was lube the plastic tube with olive oil and Bob's your uncle . . . well if he has the operation he can be your Aunt ! !  10 bucks in plastic tube and another 5 minute job done again . . . . YEH BULLSH#T ! My love for Skylines knows no bounds !
    • So was there a solution to this problem? I’m having this issue now.
    • not expensive, just irreplaceable if you don't go sub 60 at wakie in that thing people will start talking
    • I haven't replaced that, but I have had the doors apart on the r32 a couple of times The door skin will be held on by a combination of clips and bolts, just take it slowly and make sure all the sneaky hidden bolts are out Once the skin is off you should be able to pop that piece off pretty easily, looks like there are only 2 bolts holding it on
