Hey guys, I'm new to the forum.

I love Skyline's since a young age and it may be finally time to get myself into one! Please bare in mind it's an N/A (will be buying a turbo once I get my full licence or just work on this one if it's good)

The owner (a mates brother) had notified me by being upfront that the car is running rich? What exactly does that mean? Would it be hard to fix? I heard sometime's it's just the O2 sensor that may need replacing or would it need to be tuned? Also would it be safe to keep driving rich?

Also that the rev's just bounce between 0-1000 rpm on idle - idle hunting it's called from what I heard? I've seen on a few posts that I looked up on google that sometimes it's a simple fix as cleaning the AAC with carby cleaner, is this true? The Idle is like this -

Don't want to spend a ton on it where I could probably find one that doesn't need any work for the same money including buying + fixing it's issues..

Thanks in advance for any help :)

So John, you would say for me to replace the O2 sensor? If so, I already have a brand new one at home. Would that fix the issue of the idle? and giving the AAC a clean?

Check if current one is dead, if you know how to use a multimeter see if the voltage fluctuates between 0.1 to 1 volt. If so sensor is ok

Hmm okay cool, I'll give that a shot if I end up buying the car after taking a look at it this weekend.

So guys if it isn't the O2 sensor, what else could it possibly be causing the car to run rich?

I do want to buy it and fix it up slowly..

If it's something to do with the AFM, how would I go about fixing that?

Sorry for all the questions, just want to have more knowledge about these type of things and what not. Do greatly appreciate all the help that's been given so far!
