Hey guys,

So I believe I have snapped my timing chain in my 350gt vq35.

I had some timing chain rattle and replaced the main tensioner. However half an hour into driving my car it completely died.

Upon inspections I looked into the opening where you remove the tensioner gave the car a quick crank and the chain did not move.

This has led me to believe that I have installed the tensioner incorrectly and snapped my chain.

So my question is what sort of damage can I expect from the chain snapping?

Also second part if anyone know a good mechanic in the lilydale Vic area I would be very appreciative?

Thanks

Mate get in contact with Scott fisher at Scottys customs (Scotty nm35 on this forum) he a pro with the vq engines mate.

^^^what he said - I have heard of other workshops quoting 2K and more to do this job.

Sorry I couldn't help with repairing it Brendan, I suspect there is way too much damage to bother pulling it down and replacing parts.

Slap a wrecker engine into it, will cost a lot less than rebuilding the one you have imo, and a lot less work.
