Don't underestimate the YJ's

They are great quality coil packs at a fraction of the price of all other coils mentioned above.

And will perform as good if not better.

You wont be disappointed.

Unfortunately ATM your coils don't have a great reputation. I had considered them in the past for my sr20 but I came across too many negative experiences. You say you have improved them but where is the proof. If you want to seriously convince us guys then you should take a look at some of the development that another sau trader does on his own products. I won't name him but he buys his own test cars and pays for dyno time to test his products. Therefore there is no doubt about what he is selling as he has put his money where his mouth is and proven the performance. That's how you convince people to buy your stuff and create a good reputation for it.

If your serious about improving the image of yj 's then you'll find a way to prove your product and silence us trolls as you put it.

No. There is no need as the coils have been tested, reworked and vastly improved. Every time there has been a problem I have addressed it and am doing my best to make these a decent product.

I did not come into this thread dissing or putting down any of the other brands, calling them "junk" or "overpriced" etc...... I merely offered the OP an affordable option which is my right to do so as a trader on SAU.

Stop living in the past fellas. Lets maintain some maturity here and look to the future.

If you want to have the brand lose it's reputation you need to stop selling the junk, like the intake pipes that don't fit, the coils that melt etc.

Take some peoples opinion in and stop being so closed minded because of the products you stock.

3 years ago, i took photos and dimensions on how to make your intake pipes fit. Instead of taking this on board, you told me i would have to send the pipe back to china to get a refund... It's a product you stock, which i bought off you. It is your responsibility as a supplier to take these matters on board.

4 years ago i had your coilpacks which melted, you said because i didn't have a receipt anymore, i cannot get a refund. The coils were only ~1-2yrs old at the time, i know this because of the release date which was 5-6 years ago. At the time you had a 2 year warranty on them.

Your way of 'addressing' the problem is palming it off to the manufacturer. I really hope your business ethic has changed in the last 3 years.

It would be great to see yellow jackets competing with splitfires and genuine nissan items, they would be an affordable substitute that i believe most would head towards. But they need to be proven first.

Sending a few sets out to people who are pushing their cars, like john and jaq is a great way to see first hand results on how your revised item is holding up.

I stopped selling that intake kit 3 years ago. I have no idea why you think I am still selling it?

Sending back to china where the factory that produce them can sus it out it not a bad request. Especially at no expense to you as the shipping would have been covered.

What do you think happens when splitfires shit them selves? If you are lucky and it happens within the limited 6 month warranty then the distributor will tell you to deal with splitfire and splitfire will tell you to send them back to japan at your expense.

If they find something wrong wont them then they may send you another set. If they say they cannot then you have to pay to get them back yourself. Many companies do this and Im sure you are aware of that.

That comment from adm could have been directed at any brand.

The coils came with the car and were one of the trial sets that were purchased from you when you first started testing the water, so yes they came from you. I gave you the serial code on each one etc

Where in NSW are you located? I'm sure if you headed to WSID or SMSP or Wakefield etc, someone may be willing to give them a go and they can truly be tested under stress. Then you could take them home with you and you wouldn't be out of pocket.

I am being honest when i say that i hope your business ethic has changed, and i can see it has. Admitting there was a problem in which the coils needed updating and addressing is a great sign, along with not selling the dodgy products which don't fit.

Shouldn't you be trying to sell the wiring specialties rb ls coil pack harness?

this is a key example of poor customer service and one that really shits me. If you're a retailer selling a product in bulk, as opposed to an individual selling a single new or used item they have, and then wash your hands of it if there's a problem, well that's just shit now isn't it. In this age of faceless businesses operating online, being prepared to take accountability as the point of sale would be key to instilling confidence in your customer. Yes you may not be the manufacturer but if you're promoting something as being suitable for a certain application and it's not, then you need to apply more diligence to ensuring you're accurately marketing a product, and deal with the repercussions directly with the customer, as it's your business they won't be returning to.

(I have no idea on your personal business or the transactions referred to above, I have just been burnt before by companies and been out of pocket paying for a rubbish product...it's shit.)

The kit was sold as sent from a warehouse overseas, therefor it was requested that the kit be sent back to the same warehouse at my expense.

I never tried washing my hands of the problem and did my best to try and find a resolution for this and 3-4 years later, it is still haunting me.

I used to sell the kits under the premise that they were a "direct fit" which turned out to be far from true. Hence why I stopped selling them.

I'd need someone neutral for this that has no bias against the YJs. Who is gonna do that when all nearly all of the tuning shops and people say the same thing "nothing but Chinese shit" .... "OEM or Splitfire"........

I'm still not totally convinced that I need to do this either as I know from my own experience (being in charge of the YJ brand) and customer feedback that the new improved coils are performing extremely well.

In all honesty, I am only being doubted by a tiny handful of the same select few people on this and other forums who like to regularly voice there opinions against my brand (and they have every right to do so of course).

At the end of the day, it comes down to these select few people, who are talking about past experiences which is realistically so long ago know that it isn't really relevant any more.

Warranty claims on the YJs have decreased dramatically to next to nothing since the improvements were made. This is on a high volume of product distribution too. Not just a few sets here and there.

Sales have not dropped either, they are always growing and my Brand is better, stronger and more worthy now than ever and is here to stay.

I have invested too much time and money into this and failure is not an option.

Fair enough. You don't have a personal vehicle or a friend who has a car that you can put them on for a test dyno run? Surely you can come up with something since you've been selling them so long and made so many $ off them. As far as the intake pipes, it would have been wise from your end to verify if they fit the cars you advertised them for before you started selling them.

Furthermore, no reference was made to your brand in this thread until you yourself brought it up. As you have the right to sell, we have the right to critique your products. We wouldn't call something shit if it wasn't. If it was just a few people on here as you say, then word would have spread amongst the high number of users that the product is actually good and we would be shut down.

I will not openly bag your brand but when the question is asked I will still recommend what is the best bet for standard position coils for Nissans and in my eyes that is OEM and then splitfire. I'm out.

I took the word of the manufacturer and they stuffed me around. This is HISTORY and the dude that has a problem with it needs to let it go.

I DO NOT sell them and HAVE NOT sold them for years now and this has 0 relevance to this topic.

Like I said, there is a select few people that like to comment on every single coil thread that is posted. Most normal people don't seek out the coil threads and say the same thing over and over an over.

When a person gets on the thread and says that they have been successfully running YJs in high boost applications, you all ignore the post and just continue to bitch and whinge.

Also, so when you say you will not openly bag the brand, then why do you post things like this:

We should start a yellow jackets thread similar to the Edward lees one, so it becomes the first thing that comes up on Google when yellow jackets is searched.

No matter what I say though, you guys will continue to hang shit on me and my brand so I'm just wasting my efforts.

    • I've owned a few scooters over the years, a Vespa PX oil burner was my first scooter, followed by a few others, including a little 50cc BeeWee that I used as a barracks bike, and I've had a blast on all of them, they really are the cheapest for of city/suburb transport around The only issue with scooters in Australia is lots of people look down on them due to their size,  maybe they need a big bike to make up for something else where they are lacking, unlike Europe and Asia where every man an their dog owns one, and now that filtering is legal in NSW, local traffic is never a issue Not to say I haven't owned my share of big cc bikes over the years, but they were for more blasting through the hills or Hwy riding where it needed to sit on Hwy speeds Safety wise, I ride like everyone is always trying to kill me, everyone is running a red, or running stop/give way signs, or generally asleep at the wheel, which most people are duringtheir commute, I also ride really safe, and give myself, and everyone else enough room in case I need to pull some hasty evasive actions, I've done a few rider training days over the years, which has come in handy on more than a few occasions  As for mods, there's nothing really, and yes your right about aftermarket exhaust, all you get is loud and obnoxious noises from them, like every 250-300 cc you hear with a aftermarket muffler, in saying this I did put a rear muffler from a 125 Aprilla on one of my old 125 scooters, it was horrendous and no amount of full face helmet and ear plugs would dampen that noise As for coming from the Harley, and what a overpriced POS that was, I no longer do big rides as my poor old busted joints ache after about 1/2 an hour of riding, long cruises are so much more enjoyable now in a car, so a big bike would be pointless   
    • Oh wow, it's easy to forget how cheap these can be. Probably the cheapest way to travel. Though people in cars here tend to be morons and I would not feel very safe. Were scooters ever big in Australia? It used to be the thing growing up in Europe ~20 years ago. 50/70/125ccm Peugeot or Yamaha and some others. Utterly obnoxious Polini race exhausts. Kick stands that slant as much as possible. So loud. So much noise for really not moving very fast at all. But it felt cool at the time. Not sure where I'm going with this, but there is an aftermarket for mopeds! Though I'd have pictured you more for a Goldwing kind of guy after growing out of the Harley.

    • As the MX5 isn't apparently "manly" enough, and I need something for runs to the local shops, and also take to my part time job at the salon, basically I can keep the MX5 away from car parks and stuff......like "flying lockers", I was wondering what I could buy to fix this issue LOL, I pick up a new Yamaha 125 Delight this arvo from Trooper Lu, basically a R1 that you can fit a slab of beer on between your feet, also, it was $29400 cheaper than a R1, so actually it's 2 x better than a R1
