Hey guys, so i'm looking into getting a R34 25GT and was thinking of modding it (body kit, respray etc) and not really touching it performance wise but i'd like to after I get off my P's, but ive heard a lot of shitty experiences with a de to det change etc. Is it worth doing this especially while i'm on my P's or should I just wait until I am off my P's and get a GTT and build my dream from there?

Yes. Like the others said get a Toyota corolla - do not modify it (as you will be tempted to do with any type of Skyline) and put your money in the bank towards your GTT. Learn to maintain your car and become a better driver.

Do what I'm doing. Get a Commdore/Falcon/Corolla etc. Plan everything out, and then go crazy when you get your opens.

Can get a nice 300zx/supra for cheap these days, both as quick as a stock turbo skyline, 3L NA for the win

buy a slow car (hatchback)

do advanced driver training course

get a few years of experience and maturity driving on the road

live longer than your peers trying to own a fast car right off the bat

then buy a skyline
