I had a exedy cushion button clutch put in my r33 gtr approximately 6 months ago and travelled about 4000kms , launched it about a dozen times and it's already slipping . Car puts out about 318kw atw and has a os giken box.

Is it normal for these clutches to crap themselves to soon?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it is the pink one then yes, as they're remanufactured (albeit new) pressure plates by Exedy.

The "sports" range uses a silver/raw finish pressure plate from Japan and lasts much longer however pedal effort is horrible.

Better off with a NPC clutch, which funny enough uses all Exedy parts which have been tricked up :)

Thanks

Ye exedy has just got back to me and they said that they will replace the current clutch or if I pay the difference they can upgrade the clutch .

So not sure now if I should go and spend the extra 2000-2500 for a Nismo or NPC or get a twin exedy ?
