This weekend I hope to have my Bora to a state where I can actually start it for the first time since October.

The engine is empty at the moment, no oil. But theres a chance a little bit of coolant got in it. So, I thought I'd run a flush through the engine when I'm also flushing my cooling system.

I don't want to spend a bajillion dollars on some super nice, thin, synthetic oil if it is going to be used for 15 mins tops.

Will I do any damage using a cheap shit oil to idle the car for 15 mins?

Also, as the car has not run for so long, should I pull the leads off and turn it over without spark to get oil into the head?

Thanks guys.

Do exactly what you said. Go get a bottle of oil of the right viscosity. I would say use a oil formulated for diesels aswell because they have more cleaning agents in them.

And yes. It would be a good idea to crank it until oil pressure builds up then bobs your uncle.

because it's a TDi (I assume) can you install a dose pipe and record it going suuuuuuuuuu tututuuuuuuuuu tuuuu for us?

much appreciated :)

Its not a TDI. :(

I have no idea what you're asking.

needs a dose pipe LOL

in other news, Costco has cheap synthetic oil, great for your application... start/run/dump

Nice. I'm not a member of costco because I'm nowhere near one. :(

Might be worth the trek tho?
