I think you and I see things a little diffently.

With me, it's not that a fault occurred, it's how they handle rectifying it.

I know mistakes happen, so long as they're fixed as quickly and competently as possible, I'm more likely to be happy.

Perhaps we are different.

I see it as I have paid for a product and I'll judge the product as such. Not how well they handled the rectification as I already deserve that much by buying from them and giving them the opportunity to make money from me on the sale of the vehicle.

Don't get me wrong, it is more likely that I won't be as pissed off about the whole ordeal based on their response but I certainly would not be so gracious if they expect me to be happy about it and definitely not over something so major. They have made me gone from love to hating the model and the brand (let's face it, I am not buying a Hyundai excel and expects it to be crap), being a highly emotional purchase, I would not accept anything but a full refund.

Complaints on New Cars is still news...

Breakdown...

68% Holden

65% Ford

62% Audi

61% Jeep

...followed closely by VW, Suzuki...

Main repeat complaints include engines, brakes and electronics

One woman had her Captiva engine replaced and the replacement is still acting up. Same batch I suppose/wonder.

Im curious as to where these figures come from?

Im a sales manager at a combined holden and mitsubishi dealership and we also have the nrma towing contact for our area and we tow about of mercs audis older model Hyundais and the new d max..

The captivas that get engine replacements arnt actually a holden problem however it is covered under warranty.. hence the reason why people who have the problem with the keep having the problems.. most the time its the DFP Filter full witch causes alot of problems if not fixed asap..

The d max has a mayjor rear main seal problem at 15-20k klm and no one knows whats causing it either..

Holdens warranty/repair claims for the state is sitting at about 8% at the moment from what the global connect access holden dealers have.. do thats 8% of cars have work carried out on them while under warranty..

Im not giving you shit mate but 68% is not a real figure as holden have the 2nd biggest matket share of 14% just below toyota thats currently at 15.8%..

There is nust under 1.1m new cars sold each year on average and if 68% are holdens the figures dont even come close to making sense unless more than every single holden is a lemon

And did lol at 'bluetooth not connected' makes said car a lemon.

Just buy yourself some CD and pumping out tunes, problem solved. Glad I'm deaf so I don't have to worry about these stupid and useless features.

To be honest gents. If I bought a car worth 60+ thousand and the Bluetooth didn't work (and iys the cars end fault) I would be slightly annoyed.

Also I can chime in from personal experience and say that Holden are a horrible company to deal with and I will never own a Holden again.

Dunno why everyone needs bluetooth in their cars, people in this country uses their phone and headphones while driving anyway.

Can't stand driving with headphones.

It's also legal for you to change song using the head unit. You can't legally use another device.

You can if it's fixed to handsfree device. I.e. mobile phone holder etc.

Why would I put an aftermarket phone holder and stoof when I just paid 40+k for a car with Bluetooth?

Hell I don't even do that in my car from 1989.

maybe 3 yrs ago a friend of mine that had a brand new Captiva ( lady driver) and the engine blow, not too sure on the specifics but new engine was required.

bmw's seem to fail too and the repairs are not pretty on the wallet

      Hey guys. I have a 400R on its way to Australia from Japan currently and have a few questions I’m hoping others may be able to help with.   Wondering if anyone here has had any luck getting the Sat nav unit to work in Australia!? Assuming the Stereo is as simple as a band expanded and tv won’t work?  Seeing as they’re based off a Q50 which is Aus delivered is there any way to link that system to the nav? Nav modules and head unit are different part numbers and appear slightly different at the rear with plug ins etc. can I put my xtrail sd card into the rv37 and will that convert the maps or update to Australian? Has anyone got any advice here?     also has anyone fitted the factory remote start and Security system once it’s landed in Australia? I put an enquirey to Nissan Japan in via a third party, and they suggested it needs a Nissan Japan dealers device to setup and couldn’t guarantee if one here could do it or not. They can supply and I can physically fit it but to setup I would need a dealers device. Any information here would be appreciated also. I’ve seen one here with it fitted already prior to leaving Japan at a dealer/inporter, so clearly passes compliance and works when fitted Japan and doesn’t need changing here.      also, does the tyre inflation sensors work here? Does anything change with them when the vehicle arrives? Where are they actually situated? I’ve read they have batteries and they need to changing at times and seems like resetting involves the nav system?    any help here would be appreciated and any other aust specific information to help would be great. Looking forward to see what the current generation skyline is like and eager to see how many of the gadgets can be utilised here.  Thanks in advance

      Do need to take it with a pinch of salt. One of the adapter failures, they clearly had setup issues with the flywheel.  One of the slipping ones I spoke to and it was pretty clear the throwout was riding, rather than fix, just swapped to a new clutch.    These clutches are being put in anything from 5k offroad 4x4 beaters, GR yaris, 500hp commodores to 1200hp barra monsters. Bound to be some issues in some of them when they are not a simple bolt in affair due to the changes in height.    There is a lot going on in this picture and unless I did the job myself no way to tell what really happened.

      I did this mod in 2019  You just have to modify the top bracket of the ABS/TC/Fuel Pump Control ECU so it sits more upright and closer to the back seat and run a good quality positive battery lead from the engine bay, the negative lead i just bolted down to the body in the boot.
