Guest
Just curious as to 0-100 km times from the factory for a JZX110 Mark II IR-V (5 Speed Auto) Vs V35 Coupe 350GT (5 Speed Auto). I know V35 350GT's (VQ35DE) are quick from the factory (I used to own one!) and I've had a V36 350GT (VQ35HR) and that was noticeably quicker too... so where does a JZX110 Mark II (1JZ-GTE)...? The V35's have and excellent auto box from the factory and a sensational engine... ...but the Mark II's have the legendary 1JZ-GTE! (torquay as phuk with 378 Nm from 2400rpm). Thanks in advance! *Prefer real world answers opposed to guesstimation. iruvyouskyrine
Even if the Mk II didn't win (which I would be very surprised if it didn't) it would sure sound and look a whole lot better doing it 1JZ > VQ any day. And I'm not even a Toyota fanboy (truth be told I am probably a Nissan fanboy), J's are just the best engines! camr33
I have an old Wheels mag floating around somewhere (circa 2007), where they test drove one in a "bang for your buck" article. The stock auto ran a respectable 14.4 in a 98/99 chaser. I'll have a look for it tonight- I dont usually buy Wheels, but it had a decent R35 GTR article I wanted to read. If the articles I've seen on G35 driver are anything to go by, a stock auto V35 coupe will run a 14.6 in full auto, and low 14's in tiptronic and a small brake stall at launch. Guest
Thanks for the feedback (still welcoming more!) I'm very curious to know more info from that wheels magazine you read. PS: Whilst I'm a Nissan fanboy (based automatically on the high % of Nissan's Vs Everything else that I've owned... 1JZ is life. (and VQ engines are award winning... 10 years straight, don't forget!)... It's just that 1JZ = God tier Would love to know JZX100 / JZX110 stock auto 0-100 km times (accurately). GFXman
I'd put my money on the JZX... Might be a different story against a V36 though "The tacho needle flies around the dial faster than you would believe possible and our test automatic nails 0-100km/h in a scant 5.65 seconds before crossing 400 metres in a stonking 13.18. We then test rolling acceleration. The automatic kicks down and 80-120 disappears in 3.4 seconds, leaving us absolutely gob smacked." My chaser never felt that fast when it was stock... that quarter mile time sounds a bit far fetched for a stock JZX to me. Plus the JZX110 is heavier than the JZX100. But who cares about 0-100's now adays. I'm seriously considering a car I can drive closer to the limit through the hills like a little hot hatch with awesome handling. V36 is pretty boring Edited March 18, 2016 by GFXman Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/463656-jzx110-vs-v35-coupe-0-100-km-who-wins/#findComment-7699774 Share on other sites
Guest
I loved my V36 (and V35) I really, really did... but I understand what you mean Julian... when you describe a 'pocket rocket' for your next car. Where I'm excited for the JZX110 is the excellent amount of torque usable at such low revs... which is perfect for a daily driver (especially commuting through traffic, overtaking, traffic light wars etc haha). *I still care very much for 0-100 times Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/463656-jzx110-vs-v35-coupe-0-100-km-who-wins/#findComment-7703495 Share on other sites
WMDC35
I've only been in manual V35s but I'd guess 0-100 they'd be pretty even stock, throw an exhaust on them both the JZX will probably be slightly ahead. They'd be close enough to get which ever you prefer the look & feel of. GFXman
Where I'm excited for the JZX110 is the excellent amount of torque usable at such low revs... This is what I loved about the chaser. It was great (and that sound). What I didn't like was the ETCS which wouldn't let you have any fun around corners. Would limit power until you were travelling in more of a straight line. I'd look into disabling that Old JZX thread about it http://www.jzx100.com/forum/topic/89-disabling-etcs/?p=50830 Also, if you aren't aware, North Shore Toyota (NZ) on the JZX forum is a great source for parts. Often cheaper than buying here. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/463656-jzx110-vs-v35-coupe-0-100-km-who-wins/#findComment-7703603 Share on other sites
