Hey guys was wondering of going with a top mount eBay manifold. What's everyone's opinion on them has anyone had any problems with them?

You could probably do better with some PVC pipe from Bunnings.

Seriously though, if you're getting a manifold, get a good one. It's not worth the issues that you'll come across down the road. Get a proper brand one.

The original plan was to do the gate on the original manifold getting some quotes.. Do you know anyone that will do it at a good price in Sydney/Wollongong?

Awww, but i want my std turbo to be high mount like all the cool kids but i dont want to spend much either...

Also avoid eBay spec plenums. Avoid eBay spec anything that's a critical component of the car. Stick to eBay for silly shit like gear knobs, bulbs and stickers.

Ring some places and get some quotes. Someone will do a quality job for a reasonable price.

Well everything I got is good quality I thought maybe I would be able to get away with the plenum and the mani but guess not...

If everything else is good quality, what's the point of getting a cheap manifold and plenum? Stick with quality parts, and your car will thank you.

Yeah as mentioned above stay away from those eBay manifolds. Cheap & nasty.

Some people say they have no problems and some people have nothing but problems. 50/50 risk that's not worth going through in my opinion.

Has anyone tried an r31 gts-r copy steam pipe manifold on their low mount turbo?

There was a company in qld making them: solution exhaust for speedtek in melbourne, looks like they are still available.

We're talking $1k so the question is, are they equivalent to high mounts power wise?

Stick with stock inlet and exhaust manifolds and spend your money on things that will make your car go faster like a better turbo, ecu, FMIC, etc.

If you really want aftermarket stuff buy quality - I can recommend RIPS and Sinco.

havoc for ex manis...cheap and work

ebay plenums are fine..but you have to ask yourself why your using one, most rob bottom end power which is what a little 2.5l motor needs..
