R32 Gtr Autronic Error Code

Hi, My r32 with a autronic sm4 ecu is displaying two error codes:

42 Sync loss – Too few Cylinder pulses or Extra Sync pulses

43 Sync loss – Extra Cylinder pulses or Too few Sync pulses

What do theses mean?

Assuming it used to run without errors, either the crank angle sensor has failed, or it's wiring is damaged. swap it over for another one

Car is currently still running fine, might swap some bits to be safe
