Hi guys

If there was an NCAP rating for the 2.5T or the 3.5NA Stagea, what do you think they would get?

5?

4?

What's the Jap equivalent system to our NCAP rating, surely they must have one in place right?

Last but not least, do you have 2 child seats in your Stagea, what's the space/room like?

I'm asking all this because i currently driving an Audi A4 B5 quattro wagon but it's relatively small for a wagon. It was fine when we only have the one daughter and 2 dogs (50kg each) but 6 months ago, the young fella arrived and now he's ready for child care.

While the missus's car, Prado 150 already have 2 child seats and she does the drop off, pick up but i should have 2 in mine as well just in case so yeah, i think the Stag will be perfect for the job, performance and spacious.

Cheers

Had two maxi riders in the back of my M35 for a few years. Plenty of space for the kids, and even an occasional narrow hipped rear passenger between them... Not possible at all to carry the 3rd person between them in the V36... Nice flat back seat in the M35 helps as well with the kiddy seats...

As for NCAP, they are a disaster and a completely moving set of goal posts.. A 5 star car from a few years back, would be luck to rate as a 3 star car under the current requirements..Would have been more useful to have added 6 and 7 star, but no doubt that would get out of control quickly...

In the same vein, I am pretty sure that the NM35 was a low emission vehicle under 2001 Japanese standards, but given the 12.5 l/100km fuel use that seems laughable...

Two child seats definitely fit and there is room in between to put stuff, just not really an adult for extended periods.

The rear can hold quite a bit and if the rear seats are folded down you can fit heeeeaaaaappps in there.

As an aside, the reclinable rear seats make installing child seats firmly quite easy. Just lock the seat and belt in position with the seat somewhat reclined, pull the lever and push the seat up. Bingo, solid child seat install. Then just attach to the anchor points as required.

Wow they have rear reclinable seat? I was very impress with my mate V35 4 door 3.5lt skyline rear reclinable seat but i never knew the stag have this feature as well.

There are a few clips on YouTube of M35 TV ads that suggest the car had a 6-star safety rating in Japan, or at least I think that's what they're saying.

[edit] Oh, and be warned, some of them feature "We Will Rock You" being butchered by someone who sounds like Macy Grey, so unless you need to hear the JDM narrator I recommend watching them without sound. [/edit]

Have been doing a bit of researching and found that the RS4 V comes with the triple center gauges but the Aero version don't. How strange!!!

Aero is not a version. It was just a optional body kit available.

Mine had the full aero kit from factory and also included the useless triple gauge cluster. I removed it fast to make way for a double din stereo. Then put accurate gauges in.

Oh i see

So all NM35 Stag RS4 will have the connection/plug/harness for the triple gauge cluster, whether they are fitted to the car from factory or not, right?

Yes they are useless but i have a thing for factory fitted products, not sure what it is and why :).
