cpark
Hey everyone Took my R34 GTR in for a wheel alignment earlier today it they couldn't adjust the front driver's side as the tie rod appears to have seized. Just wondering if anyone knows of any other available options for replacement tie rods apart from oem? Shoota_77
I'd be pricing a genuine one before you bother exploring aftermarket options. Sometimes they can surprise you (sometimes....). My thought process is that if it's lasted 20 odd years then it's done pretty bloody well. On the other hand I'd be fixing the thing. It's only seized because of the threads I would imagine. Drop the tie rod end off the steering arm on the hub and let it drop down so it can soak in a cup of CRC or similar. Fair chance by tomorrow it's no longer a seized tie rod and you still have $$ in your pocket..... jiffo
GTR's use an alloy knuckle spindle to reduce rebound mass. Best to check before using the big hammer. cpark
Thanks, no hammer needed. Just a quick spray of crc and a little more effort than usual to get it to turn.
