admS15
Did you say low compression ratio? Maybe I missed it. Dose Pipe Sutututu
if only they installed an intercooler on those old VLs back then, could have run higher compression and better dose with more boost Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/463914-which-turbo-has-higher-chance-of-detonation-rb20-10psi-vs-rb25-7psi/page/2/#findComment-7707131 Share on other sites

Back in the day they where 1 of the only cars I would think twice about dragging in my rx4 coupe which was a pretty quick little thing. Stock ones I would beat but modded would get me. 1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/463914-which-turbo-has-higher-chance-of-detonation-rb20-10psi-vs-rb25-7psi/page/2/#findComment-7707208 Share on other sites

R33 Jared
Just to follow up on this post; I finished re-installing the RB25 back to it's original form tonight. I am running the stock R33 Airbox and snorkel, stock RB25 T28, stock turbo inlet pipe, no FMIC/SMIC and modified the heat shield from the aspirated headers to hide any elements of the turbo. Has a 2.5" X-Force so the turbo sounds are manageable and tomorrow I will inspect the plugs to see if any detonation has occurred. Thanks for the tips from everyone.
