Hey guys

My setup basically is a forged bottom end rb25det, only thing standard is the head (no porting) . I have aftermarket springs and 268 cams.

Have a plazmaman ffp, 6boost high mount with a proboost gtx3582 with a .82 strapped on ( same spec as garrett) .1200cc injectors and dual walbro 460 pumps.

Now when it comes to tuning most tuners reckon my current power level (415rwkw) is near the point the turbo maxes out. Is there truth comparison wise to other people using these turbos.

My aim was roughly the high 400 mark but after hearing I may need a turbo upgrade I've decided to bump the power I'm going for.

How would a borgwarner s366 and s369mm spool up on a 2.5? Or even a gt42 ? I don't care if the car comes on full song around 5ish k.

Can confirm it's not maxxed out on the turbo side at least. I have about the same power on a .82 through an Auto at 23psi. Some people will run 35psi and make well over 500 with them so I doubt the turbo is the restricting factor here if you're willing to lean on it.

1.06 probably will help, depending on the rest of the setup will kind of determine how much you can get out of the turbo, but the turbo itself probably doesn't need to be changed but something bigger may bandaid the problem.

The borg warners are good stuff, and better in many areas but it appears that as far as Garretts go, the GTX3582 is the 'good' one of the range and holds its own compared to alternatives with Precision and BW. For high 400's then man you have the right turbo already on the car.

Thanks for the reply guys.

Yeh that's what I was thinking. I done my research when it came to getting the turbo but now come tune time the tuners are throwing doubts in my head.

Restriction exhaust flow wise it's basically a 3inch dump to a straight through 3.5 exhaust

I was thinking of going the 1.06 but that will probably make it lag as much as a bigger turbo itself with a matched housing.

bigger compressor will lag more, is your setup twin scroll?

If you're making that kind of power and want more with the larger rear housing.. probably best to dump both gates into the atmosphere and run the 3.5" exhaust.. if not, time for a 4" system.

i will bet the last line you posted is correct aswell...those 1.06 housings are good for killing backpressure in bigger motors, like 4.0 barras.

the turbine hardly flows any more on a 3.0 with one..and the lag sacrifice is ridicilous..fine if your auto..manual not so much

cheers
